I don't mean LEGALLY, but MORALLY to you. Because, remember something: nothing is wrong BECAUSE it is illegal; It's supposed to be illegal because it's wrong. Right?
The son of an acquaintence of mine who at 18 slept with a 15 year old, and now he's having to register for the rest of his life as a sex offender. Is there not something wrong with that picture? He's being put in prison for years where HE WILL GET RAPED. So, who's the rapist here? This boy, or the state?

2 YEARS More after 4 years in prison and my son is free with 5 years probation, registered sex offender for the rest of his life and gun rights are in the air. Alot of things are really going to be hard for him. Jobs, new relationships and just having pride. His problem I see it was.. at 19 not finding out how his 17 year old girlfriend's parents would react to their sex. I think he should have waited till she was of age but hey, Love doesnt work like that sometime and I cant see how the state could have wrecked his life over being in love with a young woman 3 years younger and just about to be old enough to vote. I myself in 1958 was born from a 16 year old woman and there was no problem but hey. If the parents dont approve, better wait till they have no say! The state makes the laws but the parents should have the chance to make the child an adult and that may include waiting till 18.....and we know everyone does what their parents want! I believe there could be a way to emancipation of young adults before the age of 18 to make way for a relationship with people with this age problem..ofcouse the schools don't teach true freedom or even money management for that matter!

they should make a rule of some sort with an exception if the 2 people are within 3 years age difference as long as they are over 14.
When I was a teenager I dated men who were older at 15 I dated 19 or 20 year olds however I was very mature and was already in college and working full time at 14.
There be some sort of perspective taken into account .
I heard of the same case just being dropped after a black boy 18 had sex with a 15 year old girl and did time for it.
The superior courts just dropped it as cruel and unusual punishment.
Many girls this age want to date guys a few years older which is human nature and not a crime. It may not be morally acceptable for teens to have sex but it is not a crime of rape or pedophilia either.

Hmm.. that's an interesting question.
In all honesty, I am 18 and i've been attracted to some 15 year olds.. (I was 17 at the time but hey, close enough)
15 year old girls are more at the maturity level of 18 year old boys.. so I don't see a problem with it. I don't see him as a pedophile at all, I just see him as a person who made a stupid decision... but he doesn't deserve jail time for it .

that's bullsh*t-the state is wrong here. Now if a 30 year old man is sleeping with this girl then I can see the problem-but an 18 year old is just a kid like the girl-they are both in high school at the same time. That Is really f*cked up.I am sorry for your friend.

No He is not a pedophile. A 15 year old girl no longer looks like a child, so children do not turn him on. I think the laws are a bit too stiff in the cases like you are describing. Especially since girls do mature quicker than boys. I think these two are probably peers.

It's wrong because both of them need to get better jobs and health insurance before trying to make a baby.
