Back in April of 2003, my final divorce decree stated that my x-husband owed me a total of $5800.00. He paid 2400.00 of it these past two years, but has stopped paying. He claims he doesn't have any money to pay me. I spoke with my attorney and she advised me take it to small claims court so I wouldn't have to owe attorney fees.

Is there a statueof limitations on how long I can wait before taking him back to court. Is there a time limit that I have to have this done by?

I'm not sure if this falls under sexual harassment laws. My girlfriend is dealing with an executive at her workplace who makes requests for information that are impossible to fulfill because of the time requirements or her current workload. Unfortunately, this executive is best friends with the president and therefore all of her pleas for relief have either gone unnoticed or are responded to with comments like "You're embarrassing yourself" or "You need to be more commited."
She's told the HR manager at her workplace and she has talked to both people, but they ignore the request. My girlfriend is at her rope's end and I'm afraid that they may be causing her significant mental trauma. Also, the executive who makes these requests has used this tactic successfully in forcing out 3 other people at the company. What can She/I do in this situation?!?!

Well my brother's girlfriend got pregnant with his baby. Then they split up a few months ago. She left the state and had the baby without telling him. He called her home and was told that she left the state and had the baby a week ago. Is it legal for her to leave the state and to keep my brother from seeing the baby? What rights does he have?

Like when I first was interviewed and hired I was never told that they owned another business. Until a couple months later, they told me to start answering the other phone lines (for the other co.) and take orders over the phone. I find this not fair, because they are making money from this other co., yet my paycheck is only from one company; not like "JL & Assoc./ Goo Goo Gaga Day Care Svcs". I dont get anytype of extra cash for also doing my work for "JL & Assoc." and "Goo Goo Gaga Day Care Svcs". Is this legal??? Shouldn't the paycheck have both company names on it??

Do I have to keep the fragments and broken pieces as proof that I owned it so that the FBI won't storm my house, beat me till I confess to killing President Kennedy, and put me in jail for 50 years?

There is NOT a support order in place, the non-custodial parent does NOT even know where the custodial parent lives and has had Zero contact due to that. So in the state of Kentucky how can 'arrears in child support' be justified?

I have a question that is sort of complicated. I have asked it several times but have not gotten very good answers. I have always loved the law and have always wanted to be a lawyer. I live in Mississippi and am going to the University of MS (Ole Miss) law school next year.

I went to Millsaps and made A's so I am fairly confident in my ability to do well in law school (not that undergrad is comparable, but I am willing to work). I always hear people say that if you don't go to a "top tier" school and graduate in the "25th percentile" then you are screwed. But when I get out I actually would like to work in a "small" firm in MS with just a few lawyers. I also do not expect that great of a paycheck (55K or somewhere in that area).

I am asking this question because Ole Miss is obviously not a top tier law school, although it is well respected within the state. If I make "good" grades, will I be able to get a decent job with a small firm?

My eleven yr old stepdaughter is violent and will not listen she cusses me and has even punched me I have tried everything and so has her father. Well the other day she yelled at me and called me a freaking liar when I busted her in a lie. I slapped her across the cheek there was no mark and I didn't slap her hard she decided to report me to DCF and the case worker said what I did wasnt excessive or abuse but that it isnt legal and I can only spank her on the butt with my hand. She told my step daughter this and now she really wont listen. So my question is this is the case worker wrong because I beleive she is Ive heard its not illegal as long as you dont cause serious injury or leave a mark.

My mother-in-law has been diagnosed in early stages of Alzheimers, and my husband is devastated. Her new husband is not getting her proper treatment - keeping doctor's appointments, making sure she takes her medication, etc - and my husband and his sisters are upset. Do they have any legal rights? They want to help, but their step-father insists that he can handle everything alone and has told them, in so many words, to butt out of "his" business.

Guys, shame to tell that I received a letter from a court says that I was fined at 265 pounds because they detected I have TV equiptment at home. It was at my previous address and I haven't read the letter in detail. But to be honest, I had a 20'' TV was wait to be sold but it is disconnected and packed up in the box. I was once found by Licence people told I have to pay for previous 3 months and I did and a week later, I was legally cancelled direct debit by emailing TV Licence. And they made a agreement to that in the end of May 2007. But since I moved out Aug 2007 and my flatmate says she find a court letter says I was fined. Just wonder how they could say that my tv was connected and report to court? And, I wonder what further action I can do and told them? Currently, I have another licence for my home at Manchester. That is ridiculars so far and I am totally lost. Help~~ T T

I'm in this program that requires you to make a bill, either create a new one, amend an already existing on, or repeal an already existing. For my bill, I'm trying to repeal the law that makes VAE[voluntary active euthanasia] or physician assisted suicide illegal. The only problem is that I can't find the bill that says it's illegal. If you could find me the legislative bill that actually says it I would be extremely thankful.
