I just posted this but I added something at the bottom

I took a bunch of popular songs and turned them into 1 song, for an example: i took 1 minute from 10 different songs to make a 10 minute song. Can I legally sell a CD to make profit with these mixes on it. (if its not would it be legal if i credited the artist)

I would not be claiming it as my work the purpose of the songs being on this cd is to make a drinking game. there will be 1 track that is 60 min long compiled from 1 min of 60 different songs. I am assuming that this is probably illegal but does anyone know for sure?

My employer is telling me that I have to use my personal time for time off due to a death in my family. Isn't there any kind of law that employers have to abide by in instances like this? Please provide documentation to support your answer. Thanks!

recently a family member was accused of assault. In all his years of life he has never been in trouble with the law, never been arrested. He and his girlfriend get into an argument, she pokes her finger in his face and is screaming at him and then picks the phone up as to hit him with it and in his defense he pins her against the wall to keep her from hitting him with the phone and she calls 911. He leaves. He never struck her or hit her in any way, and also she has no marks, redness or bruises, but yet she still takes warrant/charges for assault against him. There were no signs of struggle or any ill act, but yet he stills gets arrested and put in jail and now faces court, court cost and fines and a smear on his until now clean record. What does a man do to prove his innocence or at least prove self defense? What does she have to prove? or do the police just take her word for it b/c she's a woman?

Basically, the time period they are stating that the events occur are not adding up. They basically told me a number of weeks and the months that it happen, but the weeks are not adding up with the number of months. Even with that, the months they are claiming I did this I was attending college. So, what do I need to do to clear the matter up? Because they have sent me a letter saying I need to pay them this amount of money that I feel I don't own them.

In Tennessee, the ban to stop smoking restaurants was passed. Starting October 1st, the law will be enforced in restaurants all across the state. How do you feel as a smoker / non smoker? Does a restaurant not having a smoking section hurt their business? What do you think?

I know my husband smokes, I don't. I can't wait to sit in restaurant and not have my allergies go nuts because of the smoke. But on the other hand, I feel bad for my husband, its like he is being punished.

How do you all feel about non smoking restaurants? Is is the governments right to do this? Or should they butt out?

of a victims human rights since the criminal ends up with more rights than the victim. For eg.. A burglar comes onto my land to break in (against the law) but cuts himself on the window he has just broken so he's allowed to sue me. What are my rights??

Eg 2.. A drunk driver runs a kid over and kills him. The kids rights have gone. Driver gets out of jail in 2 years ????

I was pulled over and ticketed for going the wrong way on a one-way street. There were no 'one way' or 'do not enter' signs posted, and only one car on the street at the time (facing opposite the direction I was going.) Also there were no lines on the street, and I don't usually drive in this area of downtown. I am going to fight it in court, arguing that under the circumstances I did not know it was one way, OK? (I took pictures of the street and intersection.) Should I plead innocent or 'guilty with an explanation'?

OK, dad is thinking he is going to change jobs and is not sure what kind of insurence we will have. Or how long we will be without it. I do get urinary tract infections every once in a while and Dad says that I'm getting cut now while that is an option so there are no more worries about it.

I told him I don't want it. I say it's my penis and I like it as it is. It's going to be painful and will never feel the same.

Both Mom and Dad say I'm getting it done and that's final.

But I don't want it done. Can they force me?

My son is four years old. He has been with me his entire life and has only been to his fathers house once since birth. He call's his son, maybe, once a month and if he see's my son it is only because I give him a ride to where ever we are. He fails to give Christmas presents and birthday gifts, he has a criminal history, he parties often and has to be pleaded with to take time out to visit his son. He has only seen him once in 4 1/2 months and now that he is coming into a six figure settlement he wants to take me to court to have him for months at a time. Can he do this? What can I bring to court as evidence or to help me win this battle?

I work in a law office and it's just me and my boss, the lawyer. He's a complete dick to me. I have no room for advancement and there is nobody higher up than him. Everyday, he points out little mistakes that I've made, even when they're his mistakes. Just today he asked me to get him a copy of a mortgage, and when I came back with it, he asked me why I made a copy of the mortgage. When I replied that he had asked for it, he said he never said such a thing. But this has happened every day for the past year and a half, and I can't find another job because I'm lacking in experience... Any suggestions? Keep in mind I've confronted him about this before and asked that I be treated like some sort of dignified human, and not a dog, and he responded that he didn't know what I meant.

In a state like California that has medical marijuana would a police officer be able to use medical marijuana since it's technically legal? I wonder because I think police get a lot of funding from the federal lever as well as state and marijuana, even medical marijuana is illegal according to federal laws. Also, in a state without medical marijuana if a cop were involved in a shooting or crash or something he would be drug tested and probably in a lot of trouble if he had pot in his system, even if he were not high at the time, so in a state where a cop was legally using medical marijuana for medical purposes would he also be in trouble for having it in his system. Because of the discrepencies between federal and state laws I thought this would be an interesting question.
