A guy rear ended me yesterday. A car stopped in front of me. I stopped. He didn't see my brake lights. Its as simple as that. The problem is that since I use to go to high school with the guy that hit me the cop that arrived on the scene seems to think that we where following eachother to school- even though I have already graduated. He said something about their not being much traffic out. The guy said it was his fault to the cop repeatidly, and it was, but I just worry that they might try to charge us for something when it was a simple traffic accident and he sized us up all wrong. The accident report hasn't came out yet.

My husband signed a new contract one week before becoming sick for 5 weeks. he is now back at work and has found out that funding for the project he is working on is ending in a month and he has to look for a new job. However his contract of employment continues until april 08. With the money running out do they have to find him a new job until the contract ends or can they just give him a months notice and end the work (note it has nothing to do with him being ill as the other three project workers are in the same situaton)

Are handguns still illegal in the City of Chicago? I know for a while Chicago and DC were the only cities with bans, however at some point DC's ban was overrulled by the supreme court. Was Chicago's ban overturned because of that case? If not why not? Also, how can they have bans when the constitution clearly says a person can bear arms?

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't freedom of expression synonymous with freedom of speech? Wearing baggy pants doesn't automatically mean indecent exposure. So can the local governments be sued, and how likely can this be overturned?

-Baggy pants crackdown goes national-

Proposals to ban saggy pants are starting to ride up in several places. At the extreme end, wearing pants low enough to show boxers or bare buttocks in one small Louisiana town means six months in jail and a $500 fine.

Given "following too closely" citation highway in Atlanta, GA. It involves three cars. Mine was the third. When police came, the other two drivers said there was a traffic, and that i hit the back bumper of the car in the middle, the middle car hit the back bumper of the one in the front. The Police told me that the front car owner told him that there was a traffic and that he experienced one impact . So Police said if that is the case , I must have started the hitting from the back .
Can I say say something something like am being distracted by a car horning in the other lane , can I have access to a public lawyer cos I dont have money to get a lawyer. Should I plead guilty? Can I be charged just for $100 dollar fine ?($100 fine is still O K for me). Help.

I heard of one case where a guy was able to force the court to allow him to act as prosecutor. This was not a civil case. The county prosecutor would not prosecute the crime so this guy found some obscure law or case law or legal rationale that allowed him to act as prosecutor. It may have been along the lines that the state was entitled to representation and the prosecutor was not representing them so . . .

Does anyone know anything about this?

I have heard it said that a judge only makes a decision (without a jury present)on what he has heard, therefore is not responsible for any other mitigating circumstances that may occur or that has occured due to his ignorance or from his lack of forsight or from that which has or has not been presented befor him. Then what makes him more "God Like" than the rest of us? What has he heard or learned that the rest of us have not been privy to?

If an attorney is aware that a brain-dead person has been victimized in some way, can that attorney take initiative and represent that person even though not requested to do so? This is purely academic so feel free to be creative with the question and any related variables.

I know stupid question, I'm not thinking of doing it, just curious. If women are allowed abortion because the child is inside of them. Surely when a guys pe*is is inside of me & I were to cut it off inside of me that's ok then. The only difference is he would probably survive to complain about it, but if he didn't survive & bled to death, surely that's ok then?

(Pro-abortionists, don't try to brainwash me that 'embryo/foetus' humans don't feel pain. You can't know for sure, it's like space who would have known you could float in it. Even scientists couldn't know 100%. It's not known until it happens, unfortunately pain can't be seen, even with all the technology in the world. An educated guess says pain is inherent to humans, so logically it's there from day 1. In a society that believes it's best 2 be safe than sorry, it doesn't figure to allow abortion. A human unfortunately is not capable of being anything other than human from day 1, no matter how much they might not want 2 be).

I was recently informed that a job was reserved for someone specific - before the vacancy was posted. It affects me in that I am one of the applicants for the job. Is it possible that there is something illegal taking place right before my eyes?

Part II of my question - who do I bring this up to - and when... my HR department, the EOE, or the Director doing the hiring (mine is an internal application). Do I bring this up now or after the recipient of the job is placed?

Recently, I rented a very expensive vacation house. Upon arriving, the house was a disaster with broken tiles and broken stairs. None of the kitchen appliances worked. Many of the advertised amenities were either missing or broken. On top of this, there was a terrible leak coming through the kitchen ceiling from the floor above. It was definitely not the beautiful house advertised. I asked for a partial refund from the owner. He had a thousand excuses why the house was in this condition and refused to issue a refund. I said that I would make a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. He then said that if I made this complaint, he would sue ME for the water damages!! This was apparently a long running leak based on the huge crack and water stain on the wall. Isn't it illegal for this company to threaten me like this? By the way...I made the complaint and the owner admitted to the threat but said he was 'joking'. Still no refund.
