Are handguns still illegal in the City of Chicago? I know for a while Chicago and DC were the only cities with bans, however at some point DC's ban was overrulled by the supreme court. Was Chicago's ban overturned because of that case? If not why not? Also, how can they have bans when the constitution clearly says a person can bear arms?

Yes, only criminals and police are armed there - every criminal's dream since the police are a small minority and can rarely get there until the crime is over and the crimes are not dangerous for them.

Yes..Blame the guns not the Criminals is Jesse Jackson's and Ritchie's battle cry! Retired Police, retired Military personnel cannot have weapons in the City of Chicago. What happened to good old Police work? Disarm honest citizens, while the Police Might show up after the fact.

I know a guy whose home was broken into while he and his wife and kids were asleep. He caught the burglar that was standing over his kids. Guess what? The burglar already had his belongings outside the door and could have done harm physically. The Police took the homeowner to jail, because he had a weapon to defend himself with and held the burglar, until CPD showed up 1/2 hour later. Brilliant Ritchie.

Yes, and I think you might need a permit for a cap gun. The mayor they have there is very anti-gun.
