If Person A is being investigated and law enforcement goes to Person A's school and makes him/her seem like a criminal by telling school administration that they have a criminal on campus?

Can Person A hire a private investigator to find out if something is going on? Can the ACLU help? Person A believes there are undercover cops following him/her around and maybe making him/her look very bad in other peoples eyes.

Is this legal?

If Person A finds out that he/she is under investigation behind false allegations, can Person A seek legal action?

What if the school is also involved in some wrong doing? What can Person A legally do?

Should the ACLU get involved and what are the chances of winning a case like this? Thanks.

my argumentative essay, all people should be id chipped by government, this will solve a lot of problems...
e.g. no more id cards required
it will include your medical/criminal/credit history
track down criminals
security method
etc....

the only problem i can encounter with this is that what if a diabolic government takes over? and they can track all of us down...??

ny ideas how one could react in this situation? gimme ur suggestions

also, ny arguments opposing my idea is also welcome, just so i can get more prepared for it :)

I am doing a report in school and I need some replies regarding this issue. The stance of my report is in objection to lowering the age to 18 and keeping it at the age of 21. I strongly feel that lowering the age might bring more distrastrous circumstances to lives, like uncontrolled alcoholic behavior. I realize that those that are in support of lowering the age might argue that if their children are able to go to war and fight for their country, then they should be allowed to drink. That is not a well supported reason, in the issues as I look at them. Here are some questions I need answers for: 1. First name and your age 2. What State do you live in? 3. Male or Female 4. Do you have children? 5. Are you opposed to reducing the age of adults to drink to the age of 18? 6. Are you in support of reducting the age of adults to the age of 18? 7. Can you give me the reasons and/or facts for your opposition to this? 8. Can you give me your reasons why we should keep the age like it is now.

Anyone hear about that prosecuter who flew from Florida to Michigan cause he was IMing a woman he thought was a 5 year old's mother wanting him to have sex with her (the DAUGHTER) [turns out she was a cop:)]? I'm just wondering. Was he going to pay money for that? Was there some type of trade-off? What's the "going rate" for molesting a 5 year old with the mother's permission???!!

My childs father is a criminal and has been in and out of jail for the last 6 years. I have now met a man that I intend to marry and was wondering how I could have my childs fathers parental rights relinquished. He has no contact orders against him, has never met my child and is in no way a good role model. How would I go about this???

My manager gave me notice that he wants to enter my apartment to do an "inspection". The notice he gave wasn't very descriptive and I don't know what my rights are. Are they aloud to go into the bedrooms, open closets, etc? Don't they have to tell me what they want to do, or look into. Or are they just aloud to come into my home and roam freely throughout my apartment? Here's the thing, he's a "slum lord" of sorts and I don't think his motives are pure. If anyone has had previous experience with this, or just plain knows the law and can give me some advice that would be great.

Ever since this country was established, there had been contreversial debates on whether burning the flag should be made illegal.

Technically, this act and people performing it are protected under the First Amendment in the US Constitution. However, many have argued that this should be changed and made illegal.

What do you think? Basic rights? Disrespect?

Hi, just like many other drunk people roaming the streets of Manhattan, I got a ticket for public urination. I was only in town for the weekend, I live in Virginia and have a Florida license. I clearly cannot return to New York to pay the ticket, so I am wondering if I can pay it online or over the phone, or should I pay it at all. If I don't live or plan to live in New York, do I even have to pay it (assuming I don't do this again!) and if I don't what are the consequences? Oh ya, I also lost the ticket! Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

For instance, if I saw the actions of the ACLU as a threat to myself and my country, perhaps saw it as a tyrant trying to determine how my life should be lived, and I wanted to wipe them out, would they defend that I should have that right simply because I want to?
(Not that I would ever condone violence to people)

Should a dog die who was tied up briefly to do her business, only unsupervised for a few moments, and then approached by a trespassing child who was unsupervised by her parents? Please express your opinions here, and express your support to a Yahoo! user if you feel she, her family, and her dog Maya are being treated with horrifying injustice. Here is her site and a more complete explanation of the story:

http://ca.360.yahoo.com/wardsha2002

Again, if you agree this is a horrifying injustice, please express your support to her, her dog and her family. Any pet lover can imagine what she's going through. While I do understand how the child's parents must feel, nothing is being done to address the trespassing or their child's lack of respect for rules.

Illegal (invalid) traffic stop for speeding?
Is a radar reading admissable evidence if the radar unit was not recently calibrated, maintenance and calibration records are not available, and the radar gun itself cannot be located (disposed of, or in storage, whereabouts unknown)? Is there a legal precedent, preferably from MN court? If the radar evidence is thrown out, can the stop be based solely on the officer's visual estimation (at night, coming from opposite directions, and the officer was in his third month of active duty)? Any legal precedent here?

Well it seems that because of the ACLU we can't openly practice our religion(and not just for prayer in school...I'm also talking about cases against Muslims and Hindus that have been in the news lately)

We can't bear arms unless we have the proper permits...(what's next? no guns at all?)

Freedom of Speech is being stepped on, little by little....

Freedom of Press......as long as it doesn't tell any secrets, then it's "they're despicable!"

Etc. etc.....

53% - The fight would have been handled by school administrators
0% - The situation would be exactly the same
2% - It's not about race, it's about discipline

A general contractor is hired by a principal to erect an large art exhibit.

The gen'l contr. hires subcontractors to build the exhibit and acquire rented and loaned items.

The gen'l contractor is paid an override from the principal on what is charged by the subcontr. to do the work.

The principal paid the gen'l cont. and then the gen'l paid the subcont..

The principal then decides to extend the display period beyond what was originally contracted for with the gen'l, but does so w/out going through the gen'l.

The principal goes DIRECTLY to the subcont. doing an "end run" around the gen'l. contr.

If the gen'l would have known the display period would have included this additional time, the original cost to the principal would have been greater thus allowing the gen'l a larger fee.

Does the gen'l have a cause of action against the principal for the lost fee?

Is there case law to support the gen'l's claim?

Before you answer, consider two points:

1) For obvious reasons, it is impossible to punish someone who commits suicide. The closest we can come is to punish someone who tries to commit suicide and fails.

2) In a society based on individual rights, where we assume that people have the right to determine HOW they live... do we contradict ourselves if we say those same people don't have the right to determine WHETHER they live?
