For instance, if I saw the actions of the ACLU as a threat to myself and my country, perhaps saw it as a tyrant trying to determine how my life should be lived, and I wanted to wipe them out, would they defend that I should have that right simply because I want to?
(Not that I would ever condone violence to people)

I like this question. I don't have anything else to add really other than the obvious that, no, they wouldn't defend your right to murder anyone.

You do point out the hypocrisy of the ACLU and it's involvement with passing laws to regulate people and their behavior under the guise of protecting liberties. Laws and legislation will always be opposed to true freedom and liberty - hence the hypocrisy of an organization with so many lawyers.

But I wonder if it would be possible to get ACLU representation to sue the ACLU for a real issue the ACLU was a part of that impacted your personal freedom such as not being able to pray in a public school?

The ACLU would not represent you because if your actions would injure or oppress other citizens that are afforded equality then your point would be moot. Just because you "want" to attack anybody you want doesn't mean you have a "right" to.

Could you give me an example of the freedoms the ACLU could take from you? As for now thanks for the two points.
