my mother in law has been acting like a lunatic for the past 5 months. my husband is out on disability due to a serious back injury but he has not been getting money that is owed to him so we are living on just my income which has been very difficult. now she will only hep us out if he gives her his pain medication and then he runs out too quickly bc of her which is driving me nuts but we dont have anym oney so he keep s giving her the money. she wont talk to him when he is low on pilsl but as soon as he gets his prescription filled she is all nice to him. i don tknow what to do anymore i cant take this?

You need to set this Mother-in-Law straight and also your husband. Start with Mom. Tell her she can not be taking her son's meds., away from him. Your Husband and you can get into big trouble , and your husband can be denied any further prescribed pain medications. I would set her straight right now. Evidently your husband is trying to help his Mother,but he is enabling her to abuse your Husbands pain medication. Cut her off, right now. Tell her to get lost. You take it over and only distribute the pain medication to your husband. Tell your husband that your taking over his distribution and tell your druggie Mother-in-Law to get lost. It's all up to you.

Tell your husband to stop giving her the meds. That is AGAINST the law and everyone involved could be held responsible. You by knowing about this and not doing anything, are aiding and abetting a felony. And to the poster above...it isn't her business if he is taking pain meds or not, That is for the Dr. to decide.
If your husband doesn't stop then leave him.

Bad situation.
Talk to your husband. Your options are for him to solve the problem, which means ignore Mom and move on with life, or you leave them all behind and move on. If you try to fix Mom, whether by calling the authorities or trying to get her to behave like a reasonable human, it's probably going to wind up with you leaving anyway.
Make your husband fix it. If he doesn't, make a new plan that doesn't include this crap.

Well to get straight to the point your mother -in-law needs to get some help before she does something that she will regret in the long run. Pray and ask God to work it out for you and believe me he will my prayers are with you keep your head up it will get better for real

Replace the pain meds with stool softeners, viagra and any others for as long as possible until she catches on. After she realizes what you have done, tell her to screw.
