I read about this baby that was born at 27 weeks and weighed less than one pound. She was born in January and is now very healthy. I thought this was crazy. Aren't abortions legal that late in some states?

If both partners genuinely consent to the sex, why would the older person still be charged with rape? I understand the whole "adult should be more responsible" thing, but I just read something about how if a 16 year old marries an adult over the age of 18 with legal consent from her/his parents..the married couple could legally have sex. How does just being married make a difference in the whole thing? Does only the fact that they are married by law mean they can have sex even though the 16 year old is still technically a minor?

I do live next to one and she seems to think it is ok to have one of her "girlfriends" over, go outside in the backyard and make out in front of everyone. This is a residential neighborhood with a lot of little kids around. I have caught them at night going down on each other outside but thankfully the kids couldn't see this. And no, I don't have a problem with what or who they are, just the actions. Let me know what you think.

I live in San Diego, CA and I sell cell phones. Sometimes I come across tweakers and I have been threatened before. What can I use to protect myself and to what extent. Can I keep a bat under the table, a big can of mace or what? I want to make sure I can neutralize the situation before the cops come. And this a**hole is not going to get away from me if he attempts to assault me.

My fiancee's great grandmother offered to pay his car off. The only thing that she said before she paid the car off was that he would have to pay her back. We said ok! She paid the car off, and after, she said how much (300) a month, until she got her 10k back. Well. We have been having financial problems but yet she won't let us make it up next month or just pay a little less. Now she is threatening court. Could she actually win? There was nothing written on paper. Just a verbal agreement before she paid the car off that we would pay her back.

My cousin is 17 and her boyfriend is 18. They've been together for over a year and yes, they have sex. Both of their parents have known about the relationship all along (but not about how intimate they get). Now my cousin is worried that it's illegal since her bf turned 18. But i've heard that 17 is the age of consent, although I'm not sure. Can her parents really put the boyfriend in jail if they find out something?

I just realized that my husband went to go sign the lease for our rental without me and there is a spot for my signature under my husbands. In that place there is a signature but it is definitely not mine. The landlord obviously forged it, does this make the lease void even though my husband signed it?

My father committed suicide nine months ago, and the DCI (the investigative team) took many of our possessions, computer digital camera, printer, cell phones, and many other valuable items. The death certificate came a month afterwards, but none of our possessions have been returned. Of course we have bought all new items because we have needed them, but we still could use them. Does this seem right to anybody, I think it is rediculous, is there any law or regulation that draws a line on how long this can take? After the DCI is finished, our police department still needs to go through it, as of now I would bet that our stuff is just sitting in a drawer.

I agreed to appear in an indie video. I had an agreement (via email) with the company who filmed it, that I would be paid $500 for being in the video. My original understanding was that this video would be sold as short film.

I went to the studio and they had me sign a release prior to making the video. I never got paid. I called the company and they said that, since I failed to perform the scenes as indicated in the contract/release, I violated the contract. (I didn't film one of the action scenes because another actor didn't show up at the set)

They also told me that they decided not to try and sell this as part of a short film, and they are just going to scrap the footage instead. I then re-read the release that they had me sign and it was different from the previous agreement mentioned via email. The one I signed said this is for a non-commercial project and that I was doing it without pay. And that it supercedes any previous contract, written or verbal.

Am I screwed?

i mean whats the difference besides one is being video taped, so if i were to solicit a prostitute(which i never would) and said i wanted to video tape it b4 the act ever occured, would that be legal, the only difference i can see is the the gov. can effectively tax pornograpghy, but not prostitution, so is that why ones legal and the other isnt

My sister has two children. Their father is in jail for a long time. For a while she left her two children in their fathers cousin's care until she got her life together and found a place to stay. One was with one cousin and the other was with another. She signed papers for the younger one and put him in the cousin's custody. She found out that they were not being taken care of like they should be so she picked them up one day for good. Now the two cousin's are threatening to beat her up if she doesn't let them see the kids. They have been harassing her a lot lately and she wants to get a restraining order. My question is do they have any rights? Will they be able to get visitation rights for the kids? They might even try to get the fathers mother involved so she could try to get it also? Can she or anyone else get visitation rights without the mothers consent?

also if a person leaves the hospitol with an injury that was fixed and does not complain about any other problems, but later on, (weeks later) if they go back to the hospitol and find other injuries associated with the first problem. is the home owner liable for that as well? i mean the new problems could have occured somewhere else, so would that still make the home owner liable to be sued for all the conditions even after leaving the hospitol the night it happened?

Back in 2002 my husband got hit in the eye and had to go to the emergency room to get sewn up. What the doctor did not do is refer him to a eye specialist to make sure the eye was ok. That same year my husband went to the doctor because he was seeing flashes, but the doctor just blew him off and said it was old age. 4 years later my husband started seeing distorted images he then went back to the doctor and she then refered him to a retina specialist becasue he had a detached retina. That doctor said everyhting was going to be ok but in reality it has been a nightmare. After that first surgury he had received another detached retina in a diferent place because of the surgury. He then was diagnosed with glaucoma and cataracts. The pressure from Glaucoma caused a petrution in the white part of the eye which consistently irritates him. He is always in pain and can not work and a lot of life activitys has come to a stop. All the while the doctors seem to not know what to do. Excuses Excuse
