My father committed suicide nine months ago, and the DCI (the investigative team) took many of our possessions, computer digital camera, printer, cell phones, and many other valuable items. The death certificate came a month afterwards, but none of our possessions have been returned. Of course we have bought all new items because we have needed them, but we still could use them. Does this seem right to anybody, I think it is rediculous, is there any law or regulation that draws a line on how long this can take? After the DCI is finished, our police department still needs to go through it, as of now I would bet that our stuff is just sitting in a drawer.

We have also talked to them, and they have said that they will do nothing to speed the process up.

The investigation is over, we have received a death certificate, and it was ruled a suicide.
