I'm against hatred and intolerance. I requested some information from this organization and they sent me a package but didn't tell me how to join. Does anyone know how much it costs to join this organization? What are the yearly dues? Any information on this would be appreciated. Thankyou

Don't worry, this isn't me. I'm just curious. If someone tapes you having sex can they be prosecuted if the other person finds out and did not consent to the recording?

"Think" precludes initiating activities to bring the thought into reality. For example, thinking about walk across the just vacuumed carpet without taking one's shoes off or thinking about giving someone the finger.

I was reading a Pro-life/Pro-choice question on here, and everyone was like "its not a man's place to choose what a woman does with her body". But what about the man who really wants the baby, but the woman goes and has an abortion. How is that fair?

My employer treats most of its staff really poorly, except those that are related to or friends with the directors. They don't break the law but they are mean spirited and family unfriendly, especially for a fostering agency. So does anyone know of a website where people can name & shame useless employers. MY career there is dead anyway so I have nothing to lose.

January 2005 was dining in a restaurant and was eating coleslaw, took a spoonful of it and put it in my mouth, spit it out and discovered that I had just put glass in my mouth. About a week later was hospitalized and developed an infection in my tongue. Spent about a week in the hospital and for about a year was on prescribed heavy duty narcotics. Summer of 2006 had an ablation done in my mouth to ease pain. The people we are sueing have REFUSED to settle outside of court. We have an arbitration court date set for January 2008. Basically says that if we win arbitration the max that will be awarded is $50,000. My lawyer says if this is won we can then go in for more money. SO IN THE END HOW MUCH WILL THIS CASE BE WORTH?

I'm not a racist person. However, in my opinion judge is a bigot and racist who has a huge chip on his shoulder. He probably coasted through his entire life thanks to affirmative action and thinks the world owes him a living because of his race. Compare him to that family that owns the dry cleaning business who came here to the United States to make a better life for their family. Here they are working hard and contributing to this great big quilted bed spread we call America. The judge needs to get a life and stop thinking about himself and start appreciated our American motto E Pluribus Unum... Out of the Many, One...

So in this forum online, I got banned for "no reason" and the ban will be "never" lifted. Is that a form of discrimination and can I sue them for it? (It's not like i'm going to, but I wanna know my rights. =D)

We live in California.

My "husband" and I have been separated for 6 months. He's fought the divorce every step of the way -- not cooperating with anything including the discovery portions that concern our property. He even fired his own attorney 4 months ago. Our divorce should have been finalized on the 11th of this month.

Despite this, he refuses to take some of his remaining things (golf clubs, sports memorabilia, etc), stating that until the property settlement is done, he can't take them -- even though I haven't asked to keep them and they are currently sitting boxed up on my front porch.

He also owes over $5,000 in child support and refuses to get a job. My question is:

Can I sell his golf clubs and sports things and apply the money towards the child support he owes?

I've put a call in to my lawyer, but it's Saturday, so I won't know until Monday at the earliest.

I'm just really curious if this would be allowed.

My aunt was laid off after working over twenty year, ever since she was 17 she has worked. Yet she was told unemployment was limited to six months, no chance for an extension, so she had to take a crappy job just to have an income. Yet a lazy welfare pig who has never worked a day in their life can collect indefinitely, especially if they keep popping out illegitimate kids. Shouldn't a person that has worked (and was really trying to find a good job) be entitled to at least the same a some lazy slob that refuses to work?

(And by the way, she was laid off because the place she worked for went out of business. She had trouble getting a job because places said she was "over-qualified", meaning they did not want to pay for her knowledge and experience.)

My wife has been working part time Monday to Friday for a company on a self employed basis for over two years now. She has an exemplary record, but has been told, out of the blue, that her services are no longer required, with immediate effect. Is that lawful?

To cut a long story short - My tenancy ended on 23/06/07. The landlord has had the place professionally cleaned and billed me for it, when I had cleaned the place myself from top to toe (I left it SPOTLESS) - an inventory was even carried out and NOWHERE was it marked that anything needed attention with regards to cleaning. Everything was agreed as clean and in good condition.

SO my questions are:

1) Havent I done my part as a tenant?
2) What is the law with regards to my deposit - can the landlord charge for things so petty, and things which it seems are more centered on his taste and opinion?
3) Should I not have been informed that I was going to be charged for these things before the landlord went ahead and got these services at my expense? Should this have not been discussed with me so that perhaps I could have atleast found cheaper services? (if I agreed this wasn't complete rubbish)

WHAT DO I DO? :(

I am asking this because, Dr. MLK stated in his letter from Birmingham jail that civil disobedience is justified in the face of unjust laws, and "One has a moral right to disobey unjust laws."
I want to know if there have been other unjust laws, besides ones before the civil rights movement, that have been broken.
