After being arrested and handcuffed the police ask you to sign a consent to search your house, no miranda warning was given or signed. My Attorney says it is an illegal search and seizure. He says asking you any question even to sign a search consent is illegal with no miranda. Do you agree?

About 10 years ago a friend of mine was arrested for under the influence of a controlled substance (first and only offense) , shortly after she went through a drug treatment program but missed her court date while in the program. She has been clean ever since hasn't had any trouble, remarried and is doing good with her children. She's going to go in this week to take care of the old warrant since she knows it will follow her wherever she goes but wants to know what will probably be the outcome. Any ideas?
btw: it's in Riverside County, California if that makes a difference

Law Scenario. lets see how smart you law guys are. Say hypothetically there was a beer party. and there is an underage girl drinking there. The next morning the parents are pressing charges for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and want thier daughter checked for signs of sexual contact.

There were 4 men in the house at the time of the crime. The cops take the girl to a hospital and do a rape kit and examination. If the hospital finds proof of sexual contact would the four men be held that day for questioning? and possible arrest?

It was completetly his fault. I have a $1000.00 deductable. My insurance company was going to bill him for the 1st $500, and I made plans with him to collect the ADDITIONAL $500 from him in person. I did that today, and then found out his insurance policy was not in effect the day we got in the accient (which is ILLEGAL here in Michigan) He did not get a ticket for it however. I am now threatening to tell the police that his insurance was not in effect that day. Will the police do anything about it at this point? Does that threat hold water?

I get it, "college is a privilege". Well right now I am not feeling so privileged. We are shelling out 30 to 40 grand to these institutions just so we hopefully might get a decent job in the future. Then we have misc. fees and charges, over priced text books, sub par food, and mediocre housing added on to it all. Unless you are extremely wealthy or have a full scholorship, you are basically in debt up to your ears by the time you graduate. How are we supposed to make monthly payments on our loans if our own college is extracting money from us right out of our own pockets? I cannot count how many text books I bought and never opened all semester. Then the store will give you 2% back of what you paid for it, or worse, nothing at all. I get misc. charges on my bill for damages I did not do. If college is a business, then let's place some laws in order for the business's consumers to be treated right. Shouldn't there be more laws implemented to aid and protect struggling college students?

In this story the representive say if we increase spending buy 180 billion, effectiveness will increase by 31%,

I find that to be rediculous, for 180 billion, you only get a 31% increase in the effectiveness of the system,

These people are are criminals,

when you (as a citizen) get arrested, the cops can tell you your life story once you get to central processing, but cant notify immigration and say hey come pic this guy up when they pic up an illeagle imigrant ????

I dont get it, so to get someone to pick up the fu**ing phone and use it to enforce the law, it costs 180 billion, and even then you end up with a 69% failure ratio how on earth is this acceptable ???

if your company operated on ratios like this you would be out of business in less than 6 months, so how can our dept of national security operate on the same ratios ???

Im not against people that immigrate in the right way for a reasone

I started a business I am good at and can beat the prices offered by my competition because he's a greedy son of a *****. He is a civic leader though no one cares for him. He is taking flyers and pamphlets down that my staff has put up in public areas, including some he owns. He is spreading gossip and has sought legal action prohibiting legal work on some of these properties. In short, he is an asshole. I am trying to get my business off the ground and this man has a vendetta. Are there any legal recourses against him or resources to raise capital in what may be a legal right to work issue?

The building I recently moved into has a door (in the basement) which opens into the parking garage. The door locks from the INSIDE. Meaning, you cannot leave the building/enter the garage without a key. However, the same door is open from the OUTSIDE and you can walk right into the building. Granted, the door in the garage IS inside the garage. In order for someone to "walk right into" the building, they would have to be in the garage ~ either have a garage door remote or stealthily follow someone into the garage. I wonder if it isn't a fire hazard to have a door in a condo building which does not allow exit without a key. I would think it made more sense to allow ANYONE to EXIT the building, but only those with keys to ENTER the building from within the garage. Anyone know if this is in violation of Chicago Fire Code?

I know a girl that I went to college with. She managed to accumulate all of about 50 credits in 6 years. Her problem was that she just couldn't wake up in time to go to class. She went to about 10 doctors and one finally told her she had "schizo-effective disorder." Its not even a recognized condition, its just a label. She dropped out of college. She moved out of state. Somehow, she is getting money from the government every month to the tune of $1400, to compensate for the fact that she has this disorder. She tithes away $140 to church, and spends the rest on clothes. She currently has three credit cards with outstanding balances to the tune of $5000. She pays $20 a month on them. She has no job, not even at a fast food place.

Do you think its fair that the government is paying for this? Don't you think that this money woud be better suited elsewhere? Why should she live this way when people with real problems don't get funding? What can be done? She doens't deserve a free ride

I was thinking about this, and u must know that it is illegal in most countries to help someone die, like an elderly person.
Do you think it should be allowed if it is the person's wishes or do you think it is morally/lawfully wrong to take part in something like that? It's a pretty heavy, political and debatable question but i think it will have some interesting answers.
