If you feel threatened and think they are going to do it - then call the police. Or just stay away from them.

If you are concerned - then file a police report.
A threat of bodily harm is usually considered "Assault" in most states.
Hitting you with the bat is "Assault and battery" (no pun really intended).
Again - talk to the police but do it calmly.
If you did something to provoke the threat - like you made a threat first - then you should re-think this whole thing.

I like the get a gund answer. If you have a gun when he threatens, in some states you can legally shoot him.
But, the best asnwer is to report that person to the police. File a report. Taht way if the peron does it again OR if the person actually hits someone they will go to prison for a longer time.

Call your Police department. it is considered a threat to do bodily harm and it is a minimum of a class B misdemeanor.

Take it as a compliment that they are so scarred of you they want to hit you with a bad. Violence is just a part of life you need to accept, or you may live in fear for all of it. I have been hit by a bat several times, by angry people, its not as bad as you think.
