How can one deny what facts? There aren't any present in the link you provided.

FIrstly, the information is out of date. To assume that because the information was "correct" in 1993 and now even "more correct" or "worse" is fallacy. The information is over a decade out of date. Show us relevant, up to date information. To assume the problem is worse because time has moved forward is folly.

Secondly, from the article:
"The statistics below show that spending more on police and prisons is correlated with a higher crime rate. Before examining these statistics, however, it is useful to keep a few points in mind. The first is that correlation is not causation -- just because a high crime rate accompanies a high police effort does not tell us which causes which. And, second, one may not cause the other at all. An example best illustrates this point: it could be said that the more birds fly south, the more trees change the color of their leaves. Although this is indeed a correlation, neither causes the other; the real cause is a third factor, the onset of autumn."

In other words, they admit that their article may not at all address the cause of the issue at hand, only a correlation perhaps. In fact, it does not discuss or find any solid causal relationship.
Since the article is comparing higher crime rates and police enforcement, "guns" play almost no part in the discussion at all.

Thirdly, the article does a poor job, at best, of discussing the issue at all since they have limited themselves with only discussing the following possiblities:
"1. A greater police effort creates more crime.
2. More crime calls for a greater police effort.
3. A third and unknown causal factor causes both to rise."

With that limited scope and focus, it's no wonder to me that the article fails to conclude anything other than what they want to conclude--namely that we should have less police forces and less prisons.

I'm sure the criminal element around the world wholeheartedly agrees.

Lastly, I've met and talked to my fair share of anti-gun fools. None of them could ever come up with rational, factual arguments that showed the guns increase crime, or that crime and guns were related in any meaningful way. And you have the audacity to call us "liers." If you're going to call gun owners "liars" at least learn how to spell it.
