I just had my 30th B-day and live in SC. If I had sex with my 16 almost 17 year old step-son that lives in the same house as me, is this considered rape if he willingly gives it and is not coerced or forced to do said act? The age of consent in SC is 16 for boys and 14 for girls.

Everytime I watch the news about Paris being in jail there is always some "legal expert" being interviewed about the case. The "legal experts" always say that the punishment was way too harsh considering the crime wasn't so bad. They keep saying that she shouldn't have had to serve ANY jail time.

These "legal experts" say that other people that are guilty of the same crime usually only have to do community service. They also keep saying that the only reason she got such a harsh punishment is because she is a celebrity.

I tend to think that celebrities get away with murder (literally) and that it's about time one of them got more then a slap on the wrist. I don't think her punishment is too harsh (it seems fitting if you ask me).

Anyway, I just wanted to know if the "legal experts" are right and her punishment is too harsh.

I heard the mayor of Yuma Arizona say on the radio this morning that although he is oppossed to illegal immigration, he feels that legal immigration is absolutely necessary to conduct a three billion dollar a year farming industry.
What do you think about this statement? Should we encourage legal immigration, or close our boerders to everyone for a while?

If the previous owner signed a contract with an advertising company that lasts 2 years, does the new owner bare that responsibility when he/she bought it a year ago? Is the new owner obligated to pay the 2nd year advertising fee?

In the UK, we are the most spied upon people in the world...being captured, on average, 300 times per day by cctv cameras. There are now cameras in some cities where a controller will tell you, over a tannoy, to pick up a piece of litter you've just dropped or to stop drinking alcohol in a public place etc...

I am sick of all these gun control laws. Statistics prove that in states where gun control laws were placed crime did not drop in fact in some cities i.e. D.C. crime actually went up while crime rates went down in the rest of the nation. Under section 44 of the philipine republic act Violence against women and their children, all records regarding the case are confidential, any form of publication is a liability to contempt. What if the supposed to be victim published or scanned her complaint afidavit showing all the names, addresses and published it on the internet, what will happen? section 44 states "any person who violates this provision shall suffer penalty", is the supposed to be victim included?

I've always wondered why:

-When you pay both parties to have sex with eachother, it's legal.

-When you pay one party to have sex with another party, it's against the law.

Why is that?

I don't (under any circumstances) condone prostitution, I've just always wondered why this is the case.

basically about 6 months ago we had agreed on a small payment plan for my 2800 dollar debt. then i found out one of his associates had harrassed my mom at my old house which really upset me. so i cancelled the agreement a few days before he was supposed to take the payment from my checking account and closed the account.after he got the stop payment the collection agency threatened me saying i wrote a hot check and he was sending the sherriff over to arrest me for writing hot checks and said when i am done with you you will be in jail and not have a dollar left. well i havent heard from them in almost 5 months until today as they sent a supposed middleman to say he was trying to resolve this and that he had record of me writing 6 bad checks because they have been trying to get the same 175 dollar payment each month even though the agreement was off and the account was closed before any of their attepmts went through. basically he said the sherriff was coming to arrest me. what can ido

And what about unwed mothers, shouldn't they get abortions too, since a lot of hose babies will be on WIC and other public assistance? And what about those bi-racial babies, wouldn't it just be better that they were not even born, so that they won't be an embarasement to their families? And how about babies concieved by incest or rape, they have no right to exist any way, and how dare biology make them live? And since there are someimes complications from abortion, shouldn't we write laws, that protect the predomonantly male abortionists from any liability?
