The only time you need to bring in your Marriage Certificate is if you are changing your last name. This is proof of your marriage and that you can change your last name.
If your married last name is your LEGAL last name and you haven't yet changed it, then YES you need to bring it.
If you have already changed your last name or if you choose to keep your maiden name as your last name, you do not need to bring it .
In fact, make sure ALL of your legal documents are using the same last name to ensure protection for yourself and keeping things consist ant!
Make sure your name is the same on your Social Security Card, Driver's License, all legal documents and bills, and make sure the banks and other entities you deal with on a frequent basis have your current information.

Call the local DMV Office. I think most only require that you show some mail coming addressed to you in your new married name. This also proves your address to them if you moved, etc. Still never hurts to take the marriage license along you never. Just call them, its easier.
