My boyfriend is not sure about the traffic violation "summons" he got. It says "summons" and has a date and the traffic violation about a stop sign. Is the summons for the trial? Is there a difference between a summons and a notice to trial? What happens when he gets to the court for the summons?
thanks

This case is from an auto accident in August '06. This attorney has been aggravating since I hired him. He's terrible to get ahold of, hasn't done his job...I could go into detail. But my question is this...I have now been offered a settlement by the insurance company that will not cover bills acquired. I asked the attorny initially what his demand was, he said he didn't have one that the insurance company would make the offer. Anyhow, he never filed for lost wages like he was supposed to, I found that out too late. Now after a week of calling and requesting info, he will NOT call me back!!!!! If I fire him now, what will I owe him? How can I fire him? I'm going to try to get a consult with another attorney, but at this point I'm totally disgusted and refuse to pay this moron for what he DIDN'T do for me. He left us responsible for gathering all paperwork, etc, for him and faxing it through too...still wants his 33%.

I have a family member who belongs to a well known web site where they enter daily journals. They do not have a restriction, where only a few friends can read, but it is an open file and all you have to do is type in a name and the journal comes up. Ironically, their file caption states, "My life is an open book". I recently typed in their name and found some things written in anger about my family and shared it with my husband. Now I'm being accused of breaking the law and invading privacy, when just anyone could type in a name and read it. Am I in trouble for this?

Bhandari said he received a letter from the state auditor last month saying the state would sue him if he did not raise his prices. The state could penalize him for each discounted gallon he sold, with the fine determined by a judge.

not why not? Equal is supposed to be fair you would think so Why not start a White College Fund as there are millions of poor Whites being discriminated against and ignored. This is an Epidemic and needs to be addressed. We all need help financially for school and this segregating of Funds should be banned!!!!!!!!!!

I am applying for a job where on the application it asks if you've ever been convicted of a crime, I have a disorderly conduct on my record that's been on there for ten years. Is it considered a crime, and does an employer likely hold that against you?

This is not an advocatcy for legalization. It's a serious inquiry. How can natural plant be illegal? If people smoked christmas trees and got high, would christmas trees then be illegal? All other drugs on the planet, legal and illegal are altered in some way to achieve a desired effect. Even the poppy is manipulated by man. That constitutes the legal forum. But a majiruana plant grows all by itself. With or without our help, unaltered, natural. Just like a tulip or strawberries, or mushrooms?. I simply do not get it.

I work as a time-keeper keeping track of employees time in and off work. We just got a new Executive Head in our office ex-airforce and all, and she's stating she's putting her foot down on office employee cleaning the microwave and refregerator both of which I do not use or ever plan on using. Is it legal for someone to tell you to clean something you don't use at work if that was not mention as one of your job duties up front?I feel it's just like asking me to clean your house when I don't live there?
Can someone tell me is this legal? What rights do I have as an employee?

have a young child and my attorney advised that i would only be able to get joint legal with good visitation for the first few years. the soon to be ex however, believes that she will get sole custody and is so far not willing to come to a visitation agreement in our mediation hearings. i have made generous support and paid insurance for the child since she was born. i also have no history of domestic violence or anything that would cause a danger to the child.

if this divorce has to go to a judge, how will he/she view our not being able to come to an agreement during mediation? i have made a reasonable offer (joint legal, child support, good visitation until baby is school aged) but she is being unreasonable at this point. also, she does not have an attorney.

I bought a house last year and had the heating system replaced with a home warranty. I knew that the renewal should be coming up next month and inquired about renewing. The company told me that I wasn't going to be able to and they had the right to deny me and not give me a reason. Is this legal?

Situation: A girl at a university gets fed up one day and kills her roommate. Thirty minutes later, without any provocation, walks across the street and shoots and kills her professor. The girl is charged with first degree murder, the aggravating factor being the intent to kill or inflict great bodily harm on more than one person. Will this charge withstand a challenge from the defense? p.s. this is a hypothetical situation.

It's obvious that my son is being railroaded in court. The judge brought him, from jail, to court with no prior notification. Police officers were there to testify. The judge sarcastically asked my son "your momma's not here?" The prosecutor has changed the deal with my son serving concurrent to him serving consecutively and the charge has been changed from non-compliance to endangering others. The judge and prosecutor don't wnat me in the courtroom. A previous PD I complained on is involved, but shouldn't be in this court case. There's a lot of discussion about me between the judge and prosecutor. The prosecuting my son for personal reasons that have to do with me.

I had a first offense DUI last November in Ohio. I live in West Virginia. My license was suspended for six months from the date of the incident. I haven't been driving since, and my suspension is almost over. Just a few weeks ago, I received a letter from the WV DMV stating that my license will be suspended for 1 year starting on April 26. I understand that states share information on driving records, and that the state of Ohio did notify WV of my DUI, but is that legal for WV to suspend my license for another year for an incident that happened in Ohio, and after I have served my suspension?
