My neighbor has a shed on my property and I told him he could leave it there because its been there for 70 yrs already. However, I also told him that since its rotting out that he was not allowed to rebuild it. Now he is taking off the sides, putting in a new sill, and new floor because its all rotted out. The town is not requiring him to get a permit because they say its a repair? When does a repair become a rebuild?

An employee was "shopped" at work, and was never made aware that their conversation was recorded. Our boss said this was legal, is it? I always thought that you had to be told that you were being recorded on the phone? (This fellow employee is devestated, they had a great shop, but they are upset about the situation.)

If there's no trial, but still goes to court, where everytime the result is NO EVIDENCE, I wonder how long the accused can be kept in jail for?

I know 4 people currently on remand, so I'd like to know. They were in for beating a guy who later died in hospital, so the charge had been upgraded to murder.

And one accused have told me directly that he's innocent.

I've attended 2 courtdates so far, since it's in another country. And I'm in contact with one accused's family who told me there's still no evidence.

So far, the accused have been in jail since January 3rd.

If they're being kept, and no evidence as it continues, will they be set as free guys soon?

Please answer ALL my questions, and seriously. No guesses. I'd like a professional to answer it or at least someone who has been through this or similiar.

About 15 yrs. ago, I had a law in my hand that said in essence,"... One government program cannot take away from, count against or otherwise deleniate from another government program." In moving I have lost it, but, I very much need it now. Where can I find it!? i.e. SSI is one govmt. program, welfare is another. Welfare department isn't supposed to count one's SSI against the food stamp program and take a huge amount of food stamps away from recipient. According to the law, One that qualifies for government programs, is supposed to get them in FULL.

I want to carry a really big knife, I dont know what type it is, but my friend's dad has one. He carries it incase someone tries to mess with him. Is this illegal in PA? What if I carry such a thing and flash it at someone who is about to beat me up? I'm just speculating...I dont consider myself a pussy, but I like mass destruction, and would bring a baseball bat to a fight. Speaking of bats, is that illegal as well? What if someone was going to beat me up, could I use a bat as defense? Would I probably get arrested?

We can spend billions of dollars on a declining war, but we can not stop 25-50% of our inmates from getting raped.

It is amazing we haven't done more for prison rape in this day and age. It is spreading HIV largely among our prison population, and these people are spreading it when they get out. Not only is it a large part of the AIDS epidemic, it is destroying many of these prisoner's emotionally, making them more angry at society and more emotionally disturbed than they were before, making them a huge threat to commit worse crimes.

A friend of mine was intimately involved with a woman for about three or four monthes. He is a very cautious person and always uses protection, with spermicide. About a week or so ago, she told him she was pregnant. Come to find out she in 16 weeks pregnant! Now he doesn't believe it's his and is in no way prepared to be a parent emotionally or finacially and they agreed it would be best for both of them to abort the baby. But yesterday she changed her mind and says she wants to keep it. He does not want this baby. He was not dating this woman. And he does not love her. He believes she is trying to trap him in to being with her. What legal rights does he have? He does not want this woman putting him on child support for a baby he didn't ask for. Shouldn't he have a say as to whether or not she keeps the baby? And if not, how is it fair for her to get child support from him when she is the one who is making the decision to keep it?

Just a ball park answer for a ball park question. If you are working for a company and you put your two weeks notice, the day you do this they tell you don't worry about coming back. Is that fair, or legal. After you put in year at the company. This company over the year didn't give you one raise, didn't allow breaks or lunches. Then when you put a two weeks notice in the tell you not to come back. That is still to weeks pay, right???? Anyone in the legal field can you help me out?????

My son has to do an article on why shouldnt flee from a police officer, he was not the driver in a vehicle, however was in the vehicle and friends had already had a few beers. They had been looking at a truck's fancy tool box, on the way into the mall, his friend is on probation and had been drinking. SOMEONE YELLED at the boys , thinking they were doing something wrong. They didnt see it was a police officer, and were parked, 60ft away. Scared they'd get caught with alcohol to under 21. they fled. The mall video showed he was on his way into the mall and walked over to see the fancy truck. He was not the driver, but the friend was on probation. Guilty by association, He knows now, has to write a paper to the judge.
