This is somthing else that happened to me today, As you can tell I had a bad one

Who took your pencils? If an individual stole them, you can sue for anything. It will cost you more than I believe the pencils are worth, but you can still sue. If you were boarding an airplane, they can confiscate anything not allowed on the plane and you cant sue anyone. More information may get better answers.

You could probably do it through small claims court if you have a record that it was taken, such as a police report. However, the filing fee for small claims court may cost mroe than the pencil set is worth. I feel your pain though, I went to art school and had a really nice set of Prismacolors. They were expensive so I took care of them all through school and replaced frequently-used colors such as black individually.

yes, i once sued over stolen crayolas and was awarded $10,000,sadly i blew it on crayons,markers,colored pencils and spray paint. it resulted in my arrest for criminal damaging over graffiti. sometimes you are better off without your art supplies.
