The only way that would be illegal is if the teacher walked the student to the door and intoduced him/her to Mr Winky.

if the school at which the teacher works has a 'handbook' maybe check in there. but for the most part, I wouldnt think so. I guess I know some friends who have gotten rides home from teachers, and it was all ok. im guessing it might be a little awkward for the student tho!

No. Depending on the circumstances. In high school, I once got a ride home from a teacher, no biggie.

If it happens once, no big deal...it happens often, there can be suspicions of an inappropriate relationship or possibly action taken against the teacher.

In this day and age, probably not a good idea in general.

It is not illegal, unless the state has enacted some specific statute regarding that, which is to say the least unlikely. However, it is very likely that the school district has a policy against it.

i was once told that they can.. but they really shouldnt.. because its a real easy lawsuit... since if the student says hey my teacher touched me in spots that felt good but bad at the same time.. it would be the students word against the teachers.. and now with the whole teacher student sex trend going around... its not that hard to believe.

its unethical and leaves the teacher open to accusations that could, probably would, cost them their job.

where teachers are unethical, the majority of instances are not illegal activity. grounds for sueing might follow, but unless drugs, under age sex, violence are involved, its generally not illegal.

the following source explains whats right and wrong in a nutshell.

Nope. I've gotten offered rides and ridden home with a teacher before. I know friends who've gotten rides from teachers when it's raining or cold and they have to walk.

no but in the current climate I would advise teachers not to. Just to protect themselves from people coming to the wrong conclusion.
