My son has to do an article on why shouldnt flee from a police officer, he was not the driver in a vehicle, however was in the vehicle and friends had already had a few beers. They had been looking at a truck's fancy tool box, on the way into the mall, his friend is on probation and had been drinking. SOMEONE YELLED at the boys , thinking they were doing something wrong. They didnt see it was a police officer, and were parked, 60ft away. Scared they'd get caught with alcohol to under 21. they fled. The mall video showed he was on his way into the mall and walked over to see the fancy truck. He was not the driver, but the friend was on probation. Guilty by association, He knows now, has to write a paper to the judge.

Its called eluding or evading the police. Just type in "fleeing a police officer" into google along with your State, and it should pull up articles on the Penal code for that offense. have him read it over.

Because most people don't get homework after running from an officer, most people catch an almighty beat down. Men who aren't doing anything wrong don't run; and even good men who are doing something wrong will face the consequences. Not only should he not run from the police, he shouldn't run from anybody. That's not how grown men should behave.

For one, fleeing from a police officer is a crime. That's a good reason not to do it.

Well, the biggest reason is that unless you have a really fast car and know how to drive it, you can't out run them.
