I want to carry a really big knife, I dont know what type it is, but my friend's dad has one. He carries it incase someone tries to mess with him. Is this illegal in PA? What if I carry such a thing and flash it at someone who is about to beat me up? I'm just speculating...I dont consider myself a pussy, but I like mass destruction, and would bring a baseball bat to a fight. Speaking of bats, is that illegal as well? What if someone was going to beat me up, could I use a bat as defense? Would I probably get arrested?

The knife would definitely be considered a weapon, unless you are a cook. Even then, if it was easily accessible, you are looking for trouble. The bat would technically be illegal if carried as a weapon. I doubt the police would question it unless there was some indication that your reason to carry it was as a weapon.

No you cannot carry something like that. You can be charged with possession of a weapon if you're carrying a baseball bat in your car and its obvious that its not for baseball.

You'll need a "concealed carry permit" to carry anything that you could defend yourself with.

Concealed carry isn't just guns, though that's what most people think.

I don't know how easy they are to get in PA. Try www.packin.com

I don't like guns or knives, so I've carried either a baseball bat or heavy chain in my truck for years.......just makes me feel safer.
