Someone was stealing things out of lockers and they did a whole student body search.

No, it's the school's property and they can search it whenever they want. Most schools have you sign some kind of form when you sign up for or are assigned a locker that says the school can search when they want.

To my knowledge no. It is perfectly legal for them to search the lockers because the lockers are technically the schools property. Now if they went through your bags or any of your personal property then they would have needed a warrant

Public school - nope not at all.. the school owns the lockers and can search them at will... No expectation of privacy there..

lockers are the schools property,its the same in a work environment as well

No, students should have their things checked everyday whether they are there or not. If a kid has a gun or drugs at school and they keep them there, give me one reason why they shouldn't be busted.

haha, we have the dogs sniffing at our schools.
especially when we go a places, like the senior trip or grad nite. they come sniff the baggage!

the lockers are school property. you are simply allowed to use them.
