I bought a house last year and had the heating system replaced with a home warranty. I knew that the renewal should be coming up next month and inquired about renewing. The company told me that I wasn't going to be able to and they had the right to deny me and not give me a reason. Is this legal?

Cancelling and refusing to renew are different beasts. It is always legal to not sell you insurance, which is what a warranty is.

Cancelling it would have been illegal, because you have a contract for a certain period of time.

They can refuse renewal. They can't cancel a paid for term.

I think they can cancel you. So in the mean time, make sure you get everything that's covered checked and repaired.
