How many of you buy a gun because you need it for protection. I am just curious, I believe people have a right to own guns and I am not one of these hippie types that think guns are the reason crime happens. I own 5 guns which are all locked away in a safe which would take a few minutes to access, which in that time would make its purpose useless. Also to those who own guns do you really believe that your lives are that dangerous that you would ever feel the need to carry a gun with you at all times.

I borrowed $640.00 to someone and they have not paid it back yet. The only thing I have which acknowledges the debt are two emails...one asking to borrow the first $240 and another that apologized for not yet paying back the $400 and promising to do it soon (which never happened). Also complicating the issue is that the person does not reside in the same state as I do. What can I do?

I live in a state with a high sales tax and expensive smog requirements for my vehicles. I'd like to establish myself in a state with no (or little) smog requirements/sales tax and still work in the state where my job is 'till I retire.

I kid at my school was suspended for two weeks after the principal found out about a website he designed. It was called "First Flight Middle School Deathmatch" and the principal suspended him and made him take it down. Personally I think this is an infringement of his constitutional rights, but I want to know what you think. There is more on this on my friends website www.studentinformer.blogspot.com.

I have just heard a very disturbing piece of information.
Tim Russert was interviewing Joseph Califano on his newly published book 'High Society' and the following snippet of info was mentioned:
Although the US population comprises only 4% of world population, Americans account for 66% of illegal drug use worldwide. And the percentage is rising.
So, in my opinion, the 'War on Drugs' should be aimed primarily at US citizens, but is 'fought' in places like Colombia, Afghanistan, etc. If there is no demand, supply will dry up.
But, as I mentioned above, demand in the US is rising, and will continue to do so.

No wonder dealers and producers are killing each other and innocent people in places like Colombia in order to feed the monster. Drug cartel wars in Mexico. All making millions, if not billions annually.
Isn't it time to look at 'Legalisation, Education, Regulation and Taxation'?

Some girl 26 yr old, live in INDIA, have done her B.Sc maths, always good in studies, have faced 3 yr GAP in her studies after her graduation because of her MOTHER'S severe sickness for 3 yrs.
Now her father is FORCING her emotionally, to get married as her age of marriage has come.
He has DENIED COMPLETELY TO PAY HER FEES for further studies though HE IS ENOUGH RICH to do that.
He says now he will spend only for her marriage nothing other than that.
BUT she want to do 3yr MCA course before getting married because ....she know she will not be able to study after her marriage as she know her nature that.....she can't study in unfavourable & difficult situations &
SHE DON'T WANT TO RISK HER CARRIER BY GETTING MARRIED BEFORE COMPLETION OF STUDIES.
There is no other financial support for her other than her father.

MY QUESTION IS :::::----------IS THERE ANY LAW ENFORCEMENT TO HELP SUCH 26 YR OLD UNMARRIED GIRL IN LEGAL SYSTEM OF INDIA?

I recently asked a question about sueing my mom. I'm not really going to do that.

Anyway I live in the state of New York...so that can help more. Anyway my Dad passed away in 1998. When he died he left his life insurance money in my Aunts name because he didn't trust my Mom. Anyway he told her that the money was for his kids (me and my sister). Anyway my Dad passed away and $100,000 went to her.

Anyway she took all that money and spent it on herself and her family. It was supposed to goto us when me and my sister turned 18. So now we have nothing.

I was wondering if I were to call her and have her admit everything including having her adming that the money was for my sister and I. I could record the conversation and use it against her in court.

Would this ever work since it's legal to record a conversation in the state of NY? I'm just really struggling right now. I have a job and everything, but I just don't make enough money to buy a new car and a place to live.

I'm a front-end manager at a grocery store and we have underage kids posed as regular customers come in all the time trying to buy tobacco. One of my cashier's sold cigarettes to one of them, than two police officers come in and wrote her a citation, and then I had too suspend her. Now I know that she should have asked the kid for ID. But isn't this considered entrapment, and if not, than should it be?

We live in apartment with 8 units. We had a flat roof but It was in bad shape. The landlords decided to put a regular slanted roof up, and began I'd have to say a month ago. There is only him and his hired man doing this project. Since the begining of this project, of course it has rained a lot and there are lots of old wounds that have reopened in the ceiling, causing all of us to scramble for towels and then battle for the washer and dryer available to keep up with this mess. Is there a time limit the landlords should have to carry on such a project. This is just beyond getting old

has anyone ever been made to pay money back to the government from a deceased persons estate?
My mother who had disabilities (eg blindness)
We found she had money in an account we were unaware of £26,000 and she had care x3 times a day to help her with drugs, dressing, washing etc
My feelings are she was entitled to this care through the government - as anything other than the care would have resulted in her going into a home.
What is the situation with regard to the government making a claim on the £26,000 shared between me and my brother.
Can I argue against them claiming anything back?
Has anyone any advice for me - just as a for instance, I purchased a 2nd car 2 years ago to help her get about, as my primary car has only 2 seats and was unsuitable, my fear is this will be ignored by the goverment, and yet she presumably could have claimed for mobilitity allowance.
Can any one help me with advice on this and how to stop them clawing back money from my mothers estate?

This is for a car accident body injury! My case is already settled and been paid from the other insurance. The check was in my name and sent to my attorney office 2 months ago. I was away so I endorsed to him. He received his share $12,500 (25%) of $50,000. He then sent me a check for $10,000 and still due for $2,500 at least that he has not sent to me. I can't get a straight answer to why my hospital bill is not paid yet. The hospital bill is $400 that I have to paid. Okay, I found out on my credit report that the bill is sent to collection agency. Been over month now, my attorney have not respond to. I am going to write to him because I am in a another state now.

At this point, I am tire of chasing him for the money. What should I do?

1. Should I fired him and get my money which still left is $27,500 and paid my hospital on my own and keep the rest?
or is that the attorney's job?
2. Should I contact the hospital/collection for re-instatement for the bills? What is my rights
