We live in apartment with 8 units. We had a flat roof but It was in bad shape. The landlords decided to put a regular slanted roof up, and began I'd have to say a month ago. There is only him and his hired man doing this project. Since the begining of this project, of course it has rained a lot and there are lots of old wounds that have reopened in the ceiling, causing all of us to scramble for towels and then battle for the washer and dryer available to keep up with this mess. Is there a time limit the landlords should have to carry on such a project. This is just beyond getting old

No time limit...it is all based on reasonableness...is it reasonable for the delay compared to the severity of the damage.....a wall is missing? That should be repalced asap....refrigerator? same.....but something that is more convenience may take time as the LL has the right to comparative shop when getting the work done.

They have 30 days AFTER you TELL HIM about the problem. I suggest you write a letter to your landlord and send it certified mail, requesting that the roof be fixed completely. Detail exactly what you are experiencing in the letter. After he RECEIVES the letter, he has 30 days to complete the repairs.
