I have a hold on my license because I was in an accident in 2000.
the other person' s insurance company sued me for a couple grand and I offered to pay monthly till payed off they said ok but we will not take the hold off till paid in full. Is there another way around this

have you tried to get a restricted liscence? it would allow you to at least drive to work and back and some other things.

Interesting. Check with a lawyer on this. I was not aware that a private company could put a 'hold' or somehow confiscate your license until they were paid. The courts can hold your licence, but I didn't think an insurance company could. You need legal help on this.

They can most definitely put a hold on your license until they are paid in full. Only way to avoid it is to some how pay them off. Can you borrow money from friends or family?

I agree the previous anwserer. Get a lawyer, something doesn't sound right about a private company putting a 'hold' on your license.

Yup, there is. Take out a loan to pay off your judgment and then pay off the loan company. Most banks will have something they can offer you.
