Yes, it is perfectly legal for a minor to go to a doctor, without their parents. However, the doctor may be legally bound to inform the parents/legal guardians of that minor of certain conditions. If your friend is pregnant, the doctor may be bound by the laws of MN to tell her parents about the pregnancy. I urge you to encourage Amy to go to the nearest health department clinic ASAP. If she is pregnant, the sooner she gets care, the better for both her and the baby.

Well, I don't know if Andrew can take her to her doctor. I think that would depend on the hospital or doctor. The doctor may also be legally bound to tell her parents if the boyfriend is over 18. I don't know about MN, but in CA, pregnancy tests can be bought over the counter by anyone, regardless of age. There are Planned Parenthoods in MN which are confedential and you can go alone without parents knowing. I hope everything turns out ok and that your friend has learned A LOT from this experience.
