Defense attorneys rarely know if their client actually committed the crime, and when they do know that the client did commit the crime they are still pleased with themselves for doing their job. The job of a defense attorney isn't to get someone off, but to get them the best defense possible, a defense that is in their client's best legal interest. If that means getting off someone who did it, well that's just part of the job.

Defense attorneys have a job to do. Last time I checked a person is innocent until proven guilty. The point is to make sure that the police and prosecutor get the right guy. What are you one of those dopes that believe the police work and prosecution evidence is always correct and always right. Would you rather just have someone put behind bars just because the government says they are the criminal or would you rather know the right guy was put behind bars. Not just someone who seems to be an easy fall guy.

You must remember, that under our justice system, everyone must be considered innocent until PROVEN guilty before a court of his peers. Also the supreme court has ruled that each accused, is entitled to an officer of the court (a lawyer) to defend them. It is not for the defense attorneys to judge the accused, but to make sure that the prosecution has convinced the Jury, beyond a reasonable doubt, that his client is guilty.

In my personal experience with many attorneys that worked in the Public Defenders Office, they never feel guilty. In fact, I have often seen them celebrating the amazing skills they possess by getting the most heinous criminals, that they knew were guilty, acquitted. They were really impressed with themselves.
One quote I heard many times was, " Anybody can get an innocent man acquitted. It takes a real attorney to get the guilty ones off."

It depends on the personality of the attorney...but remember not every suspect is guilty...some are actually innocent....and many times it is less how good the defense attorney is and how bad the states case was.

the worst attorneys are the prosectors who butcher innocent people for something they have never done, and the defense attorneys have to prove the innonce. The want to put away the first guy the cops arrest without looking into a through investigation.

Well, the defense attorney in Greene county Pa is a lying sack of dog sh*t, and lets his step son get away with drunk driving and hit and run, and yet he is now running for DA. So, I assume that most attorneys don't have souls or a conscience. Not all, but most.

Defense Attorney obligation is to defend his/her clients pure and simple. The defense attorney don't want to believe the statement/ information given to him/her by the clients. He/she is not the Judge or the Jury

protection criminal experts do not prefer responsible human beings on the streets to any extent further than non-protection criminal experts do. they're purely making particular the law enforcement officers have achieved their activity and the rights given to the accused interior the U. S. shape are being upheld (ie, speedy trial, no unlawful seek and siezure). Please understand that most of the protection criminal experts throughout this usa are public defenders and don't make plenty money. Their clientele are adverse (there are earnings limits to qualifying for a public defender) and frequently of coloration. each and every man or woman merits a protection, in spite of whether or not they're responsible or not. this is not approximately "getting the responsible off". this is approximately upholding the form. i think of the assumption of somebody "getting off on a technicality" is grossly misstated. i don't think of that's a technicality if the law enforcement officers do not save on with the form.

A plane with a Priest a Rabbi and a Lawyer crashed at sea and they were all floating on a piece of wreckage. Soon a big shark came around and started circling the survivors. The shark came in and attacked the priest and ate him. Then the shark came back and the survivors started kicking and screaming but the shark ate the Rabbi. The shark kept circling and the lawyer was kicking and screaming and the shark kept circling. After a while the lawyer said why don't you eat me. The shark replied "professional courtesy".
