If a criminal can carry a gun illegally and has no regard for the law or the safety of your children...I think any law-abiding citizen has a right to carry a gun legally. I will never change my stance on that. Ever.

Key word here - legally.
My husband has a few guns, including handguns, he is a hunter and he likes guns. We do almost always carry a gun with us when we go somewhere, no, we don't expect to have to use it for protection, but have you ever been to a inner city walmart? You need a gun when you go there, those people are downright rude, they'll cut right in front of you just because they want to, no respect I tell you, no respect for other humans at all.

You know when a tradgey will happen. Last summer I was out for a walk a couple of dogs were in a double fensed yard. They were snarling and one of them jumped the first fense, he almost cleared the second. If he would have I would have been in serious trouble. It cured me of any doubts about carrying all the time.

I've been retired from law-enforcement for over 10 years. I still get threats against myself and family.
My gun: I don't leave home without it!

well, with the thousands of murders that occur in the US each year along with countless other things like rape and robbery, you really feel its not dangerous?
of course as they say, the chances are slim, but when it does occur, you will be thankful for having a gun with you.
to say the police will protect you is nonsense, the response time is to slow and their is no respect for the police anyways.
look at this scenario, you are driving along a highway or road and your car breaks down...now what? if you have a cell call or you have to wait for someone to help or walk to someone's house to call. now, what if 2 guys pull up wanting...lets say to rob you and rape your wife? what are you going to do? plead with them? pay them? what if they want to kill you, rape and kill your wife? how are you going to protect yourself?
slim chance of happening? yes, but does it happen? of course, with all to frequency (not that scenario but life and death scenarios.)
