As I was leaving the mall, I realised I was low on ciggerettes. I drove to the lot near CVS but all the spots were taken. I stupidly parked in a handicap spot, thinking I would only be a minute. As I came back to my car I noticed the Mall security guy leaving from where my car was parked. Sure enough there was a pink little paper under my windshield wiper. After reading the paper over many times I remember it clearly stated that " My car was observeved parking in a handicap spot." the time and date were also on there as well as my licence plate number and brief vehicle description. The note did not have the word "ticket" anywhere on it, nor did it have anything written about me owing them any money or having to pay a fee, or ANY follow up instructions at all. I no longer am able to find the note. So now my friend tells me that cops will just pull me over if they happen to check my licence for unpaid parking tickets. Is this a ticket or a warning? Do I owe any money? How do I find out?

My name is _____, an attorney at law based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A deceased client of mine, by name Mr. _____, who here in shall be referred to as my client, died as a result of heart-related disease in November 2004.
I have contacted you to assist me in claiming the money left behind by my late client before it is declared unserviceable by the bank and the money reversed to government treasury. The deposit value is $_____United States dollars.

He has no next of kin, but we share the same last name. What think I should do?

I know somebody who tore up a bible to smoke a cigarette with a certain page. Could they go to jail for tearing up the pages? Or can you go to jail for burning a Bible?

I thought that if you go buy a book, you can do whatever you want with it after that...

Forward community people are very small in number compared to large number of backward community people. What the government should do is to create more jobs for the backward community. If there is a shortage of jobs for backward community my request for the Government is to create jobs for the backward community in large numbers. The Government cannot STOP the forward community from getting jobs in Government as per the Indian Constitution. Also, forward commmunity people are not stray DOGS on the strests or ANIMALS to keep them away from the Government Departments as per the Constitution the forward community people have all the equal rights as that of backward community people. My request to the Government Departments is create more sufficient jobs for the backward community as well cas create thousands of IIT's and thousands of IIM's all over India in almost all villages so that backward community people get all as much as forward community people. What is your opinion? .

"The Supreme Court rebuked the Bush administration Monday for its inaction on global warming in a decision that could lead to more fuel-efficient cars as early as next year."

So I know what will happen. Gore will get blamed for stirring up all this darn global warming bull dooky! Damn him!

What's next, pollution is bad, oil companies rip off America? Damn commies!

Gore must pay for global warming, it was going so good.

So, after being a victim of crime for the second time in 6 months, and third time in 3 years (bank fraud, car theft, and my car was just broken into over the weekend), I'm trying to figure out a way to "solve" the crime problem in the US. My thought is a two strikes and your dead program for crimes that violate the rights of other people. Offenders who commit crimes that illustrate disrespect and disregard for the rights and property of their fellow citizens forfeit their right to live in our society, and rather than waste time and tax dollars keeping them locked up, after a second offense they should be summarily executed by firing squad (and their family billed for the bullets). Punishments for a first offense should be relatively mild, emphasizing rehabilitation and instilling a respect for the rights of others (as well as knowledge of the consequences of contining a life of crime). What do other people think of such a program?

I got pulled for for doing a 'rolling' stop through a stop sign I had a few questions, first off it was around 11:30 pm so its very dark, the stop sign is way off to the right side of the road, to the right of a large sidewalk (SW), also the stop sign is wooden with no reflective material on its face, which can be hard to see at 11:30 at night. The stop sign is probally 10 ft to the right of the street. I was wondering do stop signs have to have reflective material on them and also do the distance from the road matter? I am also not from where I got the ticket, would it be worth it to drive almost an hour to get to the court, do you think I stand a chance or just pay the ticket over mail?

I'm currently writing a paper over whether or not the HPV vaccine should become mandatory for girls before entering the sixth grade. Parents could opt out under most bills citing religious/philosophical beliefs. Opponents say that it would take away parents rights and it might increase promiscuity. Proponents want the option to be available for uninsured families (if it is mandatory the feds will pay for it) and they want to use it to decrease cervical cancer rates. I want to know what everyday people think about it. Are you for or againt it?

Your Dog or Africa?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today in my HIS 221 (Modern Europe) class with Professor Beasley, we discussed the selfish nature of all humans. In one example, Professor Beasley gave us two options. The dog you've had for 10 years and sleep with/feed/cuddle etc is being chopped to bits in front of your eyes, and there's nothing you can do as the killer makes mince-meat or your beloved best friend. Your other option? To let everyone in Africa starve/die. In a class of about 20 individuals (including myself) only two people chose the first option. (I chose the second)

I found this pretty intriguing, so I'm gonna post it here, to see what you guys think. I'm guessing the much more liberal Teenspot will have a differing view.

I'm going to be subletting my apartment for all of next year (signed lease early - stupid). However, I obviously need to write up a contract to avoid all damages and unpaid rent.

My question is, what makes a contract official? What's the difference between signing a contract to pay for say, a membership somewhere, and some dude just writing something and someone else signs it and it has no meaning? Do I need to get a lawyer involved or something? I know that I definitely need to get a unrelated witness to sign it as well.

Basically, I just want something to ASSURE myself ZERO liability once that subletter signs my contract. How do I ensure that?

Peru, the world's No. 2 cocaine producer, should launch air strikes and machine-gun attacks to destroy jungle drug factories and airstrips used by traffickers, President Alan Garcia said on Monday. "We've got to finish every last cocaine factory and every last airport. Use the A37 planes, bomb and attack these airports, these cocaine factories with machine guns," Garcia said, directing his comments to the country's interior minister, who is in charge of the police that lead the fight against drugs.

Peru is the second-largest producer of cocaine in the world after Colombia.

"I'm not willing to be blackmailed ... I'm not going to be a straw doll or puppet of the political fears," said Garcia, who took office in July.

According to official figures, Peruvian police raided 718 cocaine factories last year and seized 14.7 tons of partially processed cocaine. They also destroyed more than 25,000 acres of illegal crops of coca, the plant used to make cocaine.
