My state (Oregon) just passed a bill that allows businesses to fire or deny jobs to employees/hopefuls who have a medical marijuana card and fail a drug screen.

How do you feel on this?

Oregon is a right to work state, correct? It should be up to the employers who they hire to begin with and they likely can fire you for any reason they want. This is consistent with the laws in most other states.

What is a medical marijuana card? I've never heard of that before. Is it a doctor's orders for use of marijuana for medical reasons?

If it's a state law, then I would say it's fair. I don't believe that illegal drugs should be used period. But if they're going to terminate one's position in a company for use of drugs, whether by prescription or not, or if they would deny employment because of the drugs, prescription or not, I think it's only fair that if they do it for one person, they do it for everyone.

If medical Marijuana is legal in Oregon, that's BS. It'll never hold up in court! I bet it goes all the way to the Supreme Court!

That's like saying an employee shouldn't be hired because tey're on Zoloft, or Prozac, or ADHD meds! It's discrimination, if you can prove they fired you because of Med. marijuana use.
