I got a ticket for running this stop sign comming from an apartment complex, can the police give someone a ticket for running a stop sign not approved by a state, or on private property?

yes they can. I did the same thing and i tried to fight it. No such luck. you have to stop at every singe stop sign no matter where it is.

If the stop sign was on private property (including all attached streets) then it likely isn't a valid ticket.

If however, the stop sign was at the property boundary and that boundary crossed a sidewalk or crosswalk, then in many states you can receive a valid ticket whether the stop sign is there or not.

How do you know that the stop sign is not approved by the state. And to answer your question, yes they can. You ran a stop sign and that's all there is to it. Pay your ticket, and move on.

Yeah, you can't fight this. This law is international. You must come to a complete stop at ANY stop sign. This includes those not erected by the local council or roads authority as it is for safety of the community.

Traffic laws vary by state. There may be 50 different ways to answer your question. What may be true in California might not be true in Texas for Florida.
