Given their history of sensationalizing stories, jumping to conclusions and mis-reporting facts, they've caused a lot of damage to people over the years. They wave the "freedom of the press" clause around like it gives them the right to outright lie. Should laws be enacted that allow for extremely stiff penalties for such offenses, requiring them to compensate their hapless victims? Perhaps even the possibility of losing their license to publish or broadcast, depending upon the number and severity of offenses?

See another case has come up where the 'victim' has made false accusations in the past - with one being a close relative. She has remained anonymous, while the life of the accused has become almost unbearable. Of course we will be told women will find it harder to come forward if the law was changed, but is it time to realise some women know how quick the media are to jump to 'nasty man' conclusions...and when it's found that she was the guilty party, she can slink away while 'nasty man', without past dealings with the police will have to face what comes next; loss of employment, friends...and perhaps even self-respect?

Ive been to the hospital this morning and am facing a period of physiotherapy once a week over the course of a few weeks and then an operation. Am I entitled to take this time off work? My boss says I will have to book it as holidays or take it as sick, but its not really either.

My boss is saying if I dont take it as holiday, It wil be marked as sick, so I will be penalised for it. Anyone got any advice?

If I was actually sick with the flu or something, fair enough, but having compulsory treatment to get me fit to have an operation, surely my company cant penalise me for that?

I live in the UK.

My boyfriend had a warrant for vop, the police arrived and handcuffed us both downstairs. They asked my boyfriend for consent to search, but never asked me anything. After the police left, I discovered that they had searched my purse which was missing my drivers liscense and $160. I later found that they left my liscense in the kitchen but never mentioned they removed it from my wallet upstairs, the money was never found. I also had belongings of my boyfriend in my purse that was not in my purse before the police arrived.

I mean after all, there is so much doubt as to our own governments involvement in 9/11 that until we can see the Pentagon videos of what actually hit the Pentagon, we cannot just take the governments word when no evidence exists to support their claim of innocence. We need to see the same sort of proof they use against us citizens when they prosecute us and take all of our belongings and ruin our lives, our families, the lives of people in other countries, etc. We need for our own government to step up to the plate and be accountable for a change.

What do you think?

has our government been held truly accountable for their activities since September 11, 2001?

Plus, I want to see the Pentagon videos that were confiscated and locked away. I'd like to see, with my own eyes, what hit the Pentagon as there is no physical evidence that a 100-ton jumbo jetliner was anywhere near the Pentagon on 9/11.

Mine is when our government kills and then knowingly covers it up all the while prosecuting citizens and non-citizens for crimes that don't even come close to comparing to their daily activities of making new and more restrictive laws against the once free American people.

my question is in order for somone to be charged with a california vc 22349(violation of the maximum speed limit) the state(witness/cop) must first prove that vc22350 ( the basic speed law) was violated. So if the state cant prove that you were in violation of the basic speed law they cant charge you with a vc22349 correct???

I was in the kitchen and thought I heard something on the news that they may pass a $50 fine if you are caught smoking in the car with children present. Is this true? I couldn't find it on his website anywhere. If so, is California the only state who has this?

Thanks!

These Southern "gentlemen" had numerous illegitimate children with their slaves. How can someone have children with a person you berate? Why would someone continue on this power trip unless they were devoid of any decency?
