ANOTHER mother killed her kids and just got off today ... is anyone else outraged?!?!?!? and if they really are mentally ill, shouldn't the kids be taken away from them just like they're taken away from alcoholics and drug addicts? (this mother was hospitalized before).. seriously WTF???

As a foster mom, I see the results of what Moms and Dads do to their kids every day. This Mom was mentally ill and her own Mother reported to her caseworker that she was a danger to these kids and THEY let the Mom keep them, knowing she was mentally ill and dangerous. I think you might want to drag a caseworker into court for failing to do her job to protect the children. This whole case is a travesty, but the woman is mentally ill. nd BTW, she didn't get off completely, she was convicted of the assault charge, probably cause the baby thought it was a game. Sheesh....this whole case is sad!

C'mon. The notion of a mother killing her children under any circumstances other than mental illness would be unthinkable. If you where a mother you would understand and if you are a mother and you STILL don't understand?...... Anyway, that is "why" they get "off" so to speak. Killed your kids? Then welcome to hell. The haven't got off. They are eternally haunted by the memory as well as emotionally and sometimes physically tortured by their peers.I guess that's how it should be. Women typically are not treated like men. Just look at all the child molester women teachers. If you are a good looking foxy teacher - no problem. Drown your kids in a bathtub? Just regular mental problems. Women are never guilty and men always are. At least in America. Go to Iran, and if a woman gets raped, she will be executed unless she has 4 male witnesses. Life is strange.

Mental illness gets a lot of people off for crimes committed. I think if someone kills someone and is found to be mentally unstable, they should lose any kids they may currently have and have to spend a nice amount of time in an asylum. They are crazy after all.

No, I'm not outraged. I think the world is overpopulated as it is and honestly don't care about a mother killing her kids. If people knew the woman was unstable or had awful tendencies, they should have done something other than ignore her. We have ways to prevent this kind of thing, usually, so if it isn't prevented it's not really any big loss. If the human race was dying out, then there might be cause for worry.

My adopted sister was killed because the Foster Parent didn't think she'd learn about her heritage being in a biracial environment.
So they put her with the mother, who proceeded to (stop reading here because it gets gory): Cut off her fingers, they never found them, drilled a hole into her head, burned over half of her body, and sexually assaulted her....
It will NOT end unless someone stands up for these children...forget about PARENTAL rights, and what about HUMAN rights...rights of these children to LIVE!

if she is mentally ill, the failure is in the social work system which did not recognize that she was a danger to her kids. we don't sentence the mentally ill to jail just b/c no one reacted appropriately to their illness and taken their kids from them.
