I was in the kitchen and thought I heard something on the news that they may pass a $50 fine if you are caught smoking in the car with children present. Is this true? I couldn't find it on his website anywhere. If so, is California the only state who has this?

Thanks!

I don't doubt it, California is one unique state. I'm from San Francisco and down here it's a $250 fine if caught smoking near a bus stop or public park... I'm not exaggerating the city has passed many anti-smoking laws. .. I think many city's are following their example.

If this is true, that's WONDERFUL!! Children have enough to deal with besides being ill from second hand smoke. Now, if only laws would be passed against driving and talking on the phone. Ugh!

Isnt it the most disgusting thing, to see a couple of women in a car, smoking away, with kids in the back. I give em an evil stare every time, and usually get the bird back from them for it. If these morons arent going to stop doing it by themselves, then legislate. The kids deserve protection.

Yes, they are working on implementing this, and good thing too. No one should smoke near children. I'm not sure if this will be implemented in other states as well, but chances are if it passes, it will spread to other states.

That's a brilliant law! I hope it's true, and I hope they get to banning smoking everywhere. Sorry I can't answer your question, but I just had to say that.
