yes, and no you can't have a black powder gun or an air powered gun, but yes you are allowed to have a water pistol with an orange tip.
Even if your crime was non-violent and there was no weapons involved you may never have in your possesion a firearm, bow, or knife over a certain length.

If you are a convicted felon, what didn't you get yet? No Guns, because I feeel that in asking this question, you are setting yourself up to use the "phoney" guns to committ a crime. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry - you may have a right, but what's the point - asking for trouble - you know you can't have a real one - it's not worth it -Why don't you spend your time asking if you can go to school or volunteer in your community........No direspect meant here......Peace PS: I think you're smart enough to know how many people get killed because they flash around phoney guns......

maximum states reinstate all rights to a convicted felon after 5-7 years on account that their sentence is discharged. yet, on the different hand, federal regulation prohibits any ex-felon from being in possession of a firearm, whether knowingly or unknowingly. in case you borrow somebody's vehicle and there happens to be a firearm in that motor vehicle, you may anticipate doing 5-10 in federal detention center. in the adventure that your roommate has a firearm and that they discover one in all your fingerprints on it, comparable undertaking. Being an ex-felon for a stupid marijuana conviction in 1970, i understand. yet a buddy of mine who did some federal detention center time includes a .40 5 black powder revolver in a holster on hip in any respect situations. New Mexico facilitates open carry. He has been stopped on the line with the aid of APD and permit bypass because it replaced right into a black powder revolver and fully criminal for an ex-felon to hold. the only way you may legally very own a generic firearm is to get a pardon with the aid of your governor (state conviction), or with the aid of the president for a federal conviction and pardon legal experts start up at $15,000 with out ensures.

not in the state I live in. it will depend on if they do a background check on you if you can make the purchase. as far as I know though all states prohibit a convicted felon from owning a firearm. since most states have put air rifles under the catagory of firearms that would also be a bad thing

Back ground checks are not required to purchase an air powered BB gun or rifle. As for black powder guns......laws could change from state to state.

Im sure that depends on the state your in. You must have all firearms registered. Many improvised weapons are illegal including pipe rifles, etc. Slingshots, bb guns, air rifles under .22 calibur, and bows are legal for anyone assuming they are used in a appropriate location at the required age. Your best bet is to ask your local cops on a non emergency line and just ask.

No, convicted felons are not allowed weapons after parole. Especially if you were in for felonious assault, assault with intent to do bodily harm, armed robbery, robbery with intent...and so on. Sweetie, you can't even buy a BB gun.

Depends on what you were convicted of?
And what you need the gun for?
If it was murder, then I don't think you should need to ask the question!

you'd be lucky if you were allowed to own a butter knife... actually you can ask for an exception as long as your felony didn't pertain to any type of violence.
