I met this guy when I just elocated to Ames, Iowa and I started leasing this car. I made a small payment beca;use that was all I had. I spoke things over with him and let him know what was going on and he said fine. I havent talked with him in a while and the other day he just came and took the car with out saying anything. I tried to contact the police but they wont help. The funnny thing is, he never acted like this bfore my husband came here! My husbands tools are in the car and he was suppose to bring them back, but he has not called or come by what should I do?

I went into my local 'convenient' store yesterday to pick up a few things. My bill came to about £4.00 and I paid with a £20 but the shopkeeper only gave me £6 change. I told him he had made a mistake but he insisted that I had only given him a £10 note. He refused to check his till and the camera behind the till that would show him quite clearly what I had given him. The shop is a local family-owned place, so obviously doesn't have the normal complaint channels. What are my rights? I can't just let it go beacause, apart from anything else, I believe he knew what he was doing. I know I could just not go there anymore but that isn't the point.

I'm aware of equal access laws, and so forth.

I'm curious however, if there is a law that gurantess a QUALITY education, not one that just gurantees education.

Does anyone here happen to know?

Thanks so much for your time.

My wife recently gave a 1 1/2 week notice to her employer that she will be leaving. The recently fired her with a week to go. She was employed in St. Michael, MN, and is going to work in Plymouth, MN. She did sign a non-compete clause when she was hired. I believe it has a 20 mile. radius. Her employer is telling her the mileage is as the crow flies. Please help me with this.

Someone was dumb enough to state that "you think a fetus is a person. That's your opinion".

Well, if you would have told a slave owner that his slave wass a person, he would have said "that's your opinion"

If you would have told a Nazi that the Jews were people, he would have said "that's your opinion"

I think, if it is OK to murder babies, it should be OK to murder other minorities. If you are a KKK member, and you don't think blacks are people, it is OK to "dispose" of them.

Can someone explain the differences here???

Publicly-traded corporations already act as a perverted form of democracy.. one in which votes for representatives and for major decisions are bought and sold on a free market, and anyone who's willing to spend the money can buy the majority share. This is fine in their own element, but when it is necessary for candidates and parties to win corporate support in order to win a major election, especially the presidential elections or general party funds, is corporate involvement in campaign funding an inherent impediment to democracy and equality, and the one-man one-vote principal?

Au contrare, it was outside on my lawn waiting to be removed by a friend. Anyway, I was given a ticket for the dumping at the police station, and now the cop called me to let me know that the ticket he issued to me is the wrong one, and if I could stop by the station so he could give me the right one that's a mail in. Is this some kind of scam? Is he allowed to do this? Should I hire a lawyer? Please help! Thanks.
