Maybe they feel that MLK is not deserving of a day to honor him. After all the only other day off in someone's honor is Presidents Day, and that honors both Lincoln and Washington. I have a hard time thinking MLK was twice as impotant to this country as either Lincoln or Washington.

The only other birthday holiday in this country is Christmas.
Are you suggesting that the most important person in history, the most important person in UTAH history is not George Washington, or Abraham Lincoln, or FDR or even Joseph Smith, for Pete's sake, but Martin Luther King, Jr.? That he alone should share this status with Jesus Christ?
That HIS is the ONLY birthday that should be celebrated by a State government?

you easily could study the object you proper and all of the articles proper to get an entire awareness of what went down. numerous McCain's determination (which he later mentioned he regretted, properly before he ran for President btw) has to do with Arizona not desirous to have people exterior of its borders are available intervene with state regulation. i think of it would be a mistake to take McCain's determination as a demonstration that he did not know Dr. King or African individuals. He had a valid and defendable place yet did not evaluate the wider photograph of what his determination might advise to a pair people. Now are you able to in turn safeguard all of Obama's judgements? Why did he do cocaine? Why did he attend a church for some years that has a pastor who preaches hatred in direction of united states of america? Why does Obama nonetheless associate himself with an admitted bomber who have been given off by way of fact of a technicality?

No, it should be changed to civil rights day anyways. I know MLK did a lot but he didn't do it all. What about Ghandi?
