How old is too old to send a person suspected of murder and found uilty of murder to prison? In 2005, a man suspected in the killing of 3 civil rights wprkers in 1964 Mississippi was convited and sent to prison for the murders.
The man is in his 80's. Is that acceptable.

I agree he took the life of innocent humans and he should be punished. Hopefully, more convictions will follow soon.

He got to spend his whole life free, after he tortured, murdered and buried those three men in an earth filled dam in Neshoba County.
He is lucky that only the last years of his life will be in prison. He doesn't even deserve to be on the planet, in my opinion.

Murder has no statue of limitations, so however old they catch the person.
Realistically, and 80 yo will not be sent to the general population at a regular prison. Prisons have "nursing homes" for those prisoners who reach an age where they require assisted living.
The man should be punished for what he did, and it seems unfair that he got to live his life freely for 41 years after those 3 people he killed did not.

Edgar Ray Killen got what was coming to him. Age has nothing to do with it. If you murder someone and it is proven in a court of law... off to prison. A few years ago some mobster got out for a few weeks by saying prison would be bad for his health. Duh, It's not a resort.

Yes it is acceptable, there is no statute of limitations on murder nor should there be, if you are willing to take another's life you should be willing to pay the consequences regardless of whether you are 18 or 80

murder has no statute of limitation. there is no such thing as too old. if we were to have found some of the nazi hieracrchy (like mengler) who escaped, who would have said they were too old to be tried?
do you thinkt he victims families care about their age?
if it is cold-blooded murder that person is a bad human being, age without rehibilitation won't change it. and if they did change they should turn themsleves in- be honorable

Of course. It's a shame he wasn't convicted earlier, but he did the crime, and now he has to go to jail. I don't believe sentencing should be related to your age when you get caught.

He should certainly go to prison.
If his age has caused health issues, then he can go to a medical facility.

He should pay for his crime. He has had his freedom long enough. If it was someone you loved, wouldn't you want justice?

I don't think there should be an upper age. You do the crime, you do the time.
