My mother abandon me when I was 13. Decades ago.
I recently found out she died a year ago. And she left me one dollar in her will. She did the same with her two brothers. The only 2 people got money in the will her sister and one nephew. Her husband (whom she was separated from) didn't even get a dime.
Her will was made in Idaho, she died in Florida. In her will it states she is single but she was still married. There was a change that was made in the will and it wasn't initialed by anyone. And it was not probated, just carried out.
Do I have any legal grounds to challenge the will?

My parents want to take out a restraining order on someone FOR me. My dad also wants a restraining order for himself from the person (my dad doesn't live in my house, though). I was just wondering if they could do that without my consent and since I am 17 now and will be 18 in 2 months can I have it lifted once I'm 18? How do I do that? The reason they want it is because they don't want me seeing the person and have a tape of him saying he's going to break someones arms or something.....please help, btw, I live in columbus in ohio.
also, exactly how long does it take to put a restraining order in place and how will I know when, or if, it got granted? And....how do I go about lifting it once im 18 if I want to....

Most places won't hire a person who has been convicted of a felony. Even a non violent, never hurt a child, never stole anything felony, (just being in the wrong place at the wrong time and making a mistake)

The legal system wants these felons to find employment and live a regular life. Nothing wrong with that, many felons want that for theirselves. What I don't understand is why most businesses won't give these people a chance.

My mother is very ill and in the hospital a few hours away. My dad drives down there and spends a few nights with her then drives home. They're both retired and on a fixed income. I have two older sisters and one of them is beginning to really bother me with some of the stuff she's saying. Myself and the other sister have been giving our Dad money here and there so he can afford gas and food while he's staying at the hospital with Mom. It doesn't bother us, because our mother is very confused and only recognizes Dad and we feel he needs to be there. We also take care of his laundry and stuff while he's gone. The third sister that has not been helping is telling us Dad is gambling all his money away. We both know that's not the case. She wants to get a lawyer and have dad labeled incompentent and handle his money. I don't want a fight with my siblings, but I don't want this to happen to our Dad. Should I tell him what's going on? Or just refuse to get involved?

We hired an attorney to settle a PI claim from an auto accident. He has/is doing a really crummy job. So bad that he didn't get the info. to the defendents attorney's in time for the depostions. They rescheduled because of it. We aren't happy w/ our attorney at all and don't know what to do at this point. Wondering about just getting the bills that weren't covered by our health insurance paid and being done with it. It's not worth the stress anymore.

My mother passed away in april of 2006 .She left my oldest sister and brother as the esecuters of her will. Back in May My sister told me that the $5000 that I had barrowed from my mother 4 years before she died will have to come out of my share of the estate. When I asked how that would work she told me that It was to be divided equily between her and my 2 brothers. Since then She has written checks for part of our money and we will get the rest later. WHat I did not know at the time was that while I got a check for $ 1000 they each got one for $3500. Now if you add up 2500 3 times 5000 that doese not make. I have recently goten the settlement agreement for the will from the lawyer. It states that all shall be devided equilly between the 4 of us. Am I within my rites to call the laywer about this? Some thing just does not seem rite.It feels as though they have taken liberties that they have not rite to take.It is not about the money infact I will glady pay out of my own pocket.

I filed for ssD. 4 yrs. ago. I had a atty. I was denied & appealed so we went before the judge. My atty. told me prior to going that he knew it wasn't going to go well because the judge didn't like him, but there wasn't anything we could do but try. At that point I thought my atty knew best. To make a long long story short. The judge denied me. When I got the papers in the mail as to why, I WAS STUNNED. HE had all the dates wrong, backwards, up , down, ever which way you could get them wrong. months, years. I mean it was unbelieveable. My atty knew this, but said well, he is the judge, you don't question a judge. and that I couldn't file again unless I went to the supreme court. Is this right??
I took this to my State Rep. showed it all to him, gave him copys of everything, & when I received mail from him, he said sorry I was unable to help, due to the case being closed by the time I got to it. I was unable to reopen the case.
HELP ME. Some days I can't even get out of bed .

My neighbor's cat is a nuisance (see previous question). If I took it to the ASPCA and told them I had no idea who owned it, and they found out it was my neighbor's cat and that I DID know that, could I be in trouble? I've made reports to animal control about the cat several times and they just tell me that there's no leash law on cats in our county and that the guy doesn't have to keep his animal on his own property and that I can't prove it's the cat doing it, but I know it is because the trash never got ripped up before the jerk and his cat moved in next door and the cat is always lurking around my yard..

Last Tuesday my baby's father called and was upset because i wanted to keep my son with me on Christmas and he did not get to see him. He never calls any other time to even check on him and therefore i did not feel obligated to take him to see his father. He has made threats to come and kill me and has promised me that he will "make it happen" and considering his background and the type of people he deals with, I believe him. He's already on probation and knows that he should not be getting into any trouble. i recordered the phone call where he threatened me. Is there anything i can do about it? He has broken into my apartment before and assaulted me and took my son away from me.

I need to take my ex-husband to court for breach of our divorce decree. I've talked to someone in Stone Mountain, but that's just a little too far for me. I would like a recommendation instead of just picking someone out of the phone book. Any response would be greatly appreciated.
