It's something which only exists in North America. It's a person who, under general supervision, provides paralegal and legal analytical support work including legal research and drafting of routine and complex legal documents. Such a person must have legal training and be able to make sound recommendations.

Probably just another job title that means nothing about what you actually do. I've been working in the legal environment for 10 years so I think it may be a paralegal or legal assistant or an attorney dealing with research or interpreting legal issues depending on the particular field of law.

A Legal Analyst is a hot shot lawyer, judge or professor paid by a television station to sit and speculate about a particular case. See: Greta Van Sustern or Nancy Grace.
