My brothers (16 and 15) are being abused by my uncle "Jeff". The sixteen year old one comes from an abusive past. I told the police, but they said "Jason" and "Justin" needed to come and make a statement... The problem beeing "Justin" doesn't think getting flat-out whammed is abuse, and "Jason" thinks abuse is normal.

I've seen "Justin" get hit several times, by my uncle, the one who I reported... Several times for doing nothing - he was in the living room watching TV and WHAM WHAM WHAM WHAM - my uncle hit hit him with a closed fist for not taking out the trash. After talking there were other incidences, too!

I wasn't able to talk to "Jason", but my uncle hit him in the book for reading the other day, calling him quote "unworthy to read!" And he was SUPPOSED to be reading. What should I do?

What happens if you get treatened to be sued over something you wrote about a person/business on a forum that is all true information, and you have no money or anything in your name? Do they just forget about it or what? Cause i know alot of crap that happens at that place and im sure the IRS wouldnt mind a nice tip i could give them on how that business/person doesnt report things for taxes. I didn't do anything wrong except i wrote some facts that happened when i worked there, so would freedom of speech protect me? The guy is a cold hearted asshole anyways the only problem is he is my stepdads brother and now my mom is pissed at me.

O J Simpson was found liable for the deaths of Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman yet hes a free man, what sort of American justice is this? If he killed them then surley he should face the death penalty like other murderers.
Its hard to have any sympathy for his defence laywer Johnnie Cochran who died of a brain tumour.

Just today, a young male parked in my parking lot and was having a very loud verbal fight with his girlfriend until I saw him take her by her hands and shake her. He was throwing undefined objects around my parking lot and saw him pick one of those items around my car.

Afraid he was going to hit her (as he was shouting and physically "man-handling" her), I defended myself with a baseball bat just in case I either had to stop him from hurting her or from hurting me. As he saw me come out, I shouted for him to leave but he refused! Instead he brought out his own defense -- a pole and lunged after me. My grandfather yelled at him to stop and instead the young man urged me to hit him. Of course, I didn't. If I hit him first, I'D get into trouble. Finally, after a few moments of him still urging me on, the girl asked for them to leave. As they left, I was able to get a license # and the make of their car.

If there is a next time, WHAT SHOULD I DO? LEGALLY? WHAT ARE MY RIGHTS?

Judge Michael Johnson just sentenced an 89 year old man to ONLY five yerars probation for driving his car at freeway speeds into a crowd of people at a farmer's market and killing 10 of them while injuring 70+ others. He stated that it would serve no purpose to jail him while his health was failing him. --Not even house arrest! Sheesh!

I am stunned at this ruling. I believe that this man should have been made an example of, reminding ALL SENIORS that when you can no longer tie your own shoes and your motor skills are worse than a person with a blood alcohol level of .08 or more, then you need to give up the wheel and start taking public transit!

At the same token, I believe this would have served the younger generation well to know that we need to step up to the plate and drive these people ourselves in order to keep them off our streets.

With our Senior population exploding before our eyes, we need to ACT NOW or we will have a lot more accidents like this in the near future!

What if a person in one state was sueing a person in another state, but the laws in the two different states were different? How would the judge make the decision on who gets what they wanted?

My bf and I, were at his primary physicians office for complaints of him feeling dizzy. Before the doctor could actually see him, while we were waiting he got up to ask if he could rest on a bed or cot instead of sitting down and as he was asking this of the nurse/staff personel, he fainted and slid down onto the floor. They took it upon themselves to call 911 for an ambulance, and I said "I can drive him thats hundreds of dollars!" They said "We already made the call" SHE WAS still on the phone and had only called 5 seconds ago- they arrived and took him to the hospital and now we get a bill for $800 for the AMBULANCE services. WHAT the hell is this? I informed them that I could take him myself and now we have this bill? Granted I havent mailed off proff of insurance yet, I only got it today, but when he has gone before in an ambulance we never got a bill, at all for it. NOTHING. Are we responsible for this when THEY took it upon themselves to call an ambulance despite my words

I say NO. Death penalty is carried out because people want revenge. While I respect that feeling, it's not justice.

Death penalty, in my opinion makes a society less advanced.
