My brothers (16 and 15) are being abused by my uncle "Jeff". The sixteen year old one comes from an abusive past. I told the police, but they said "Jason" and "Justin" needed to come and make a statement... The problem beeing "Justin" doesn't think getting flat-out whammed is abuse, and "Jason" thinks abuse is normal.

I've seen "Justin" get hit several times, by my uncle, the one who I reported... Several times for doing nothing - he was in the living room watching TV and WHAM WHAM WHAM WHAM - my uncle hit hit him with a closed fist for not taking out the trash. After talking there were other incidences, too!

I wasn't able to talk to "Jason", but my uncle hit him in the book for reading the other day, calling him quote "unworthy to read!" And he was SUPPOSED to be reading. What should I do?

Children live what they learn. If your "Uncle" is abusing them, it may be a pattern they are used to, and therefore think is "normal". Where is there Mom? If, she is also being abused, she might be scared. But trust me on this, nobody comes out o.k. in a situation like this, and your cousins need to get away from this man. He needs to go somewhere to get anger management and some kind of help for whatever makes him this way. Tell them, this is not a normal life and there are places that will help (not always social services) them to get away from this abuse. In the long run, everyone might have some semblance of a good life, instead of repeating a vicious cycle. Like I said, trust me on this, I know, I have lived the same way, and came out of it OK, they can too! Good luck to all of you!

I think that u should call the police the minute u see him hitting them, at least when the cops get there they may be able to catch him beating them. Just don't let him see u calling. When children are abused they are in denial and if he is threatening them they are also afraid that he will hurt them severely. If your brothers are being abused by ur uncle where is their father why don't u tell ur mother or father or to another family member that u trust will help. But in all when ur uncle starts beating them call the cops and tell them to come right away that ur brothers are being beaten. Don't wait till it's too late and something worse can happen.

RECORD him with your cell phone and show it to police,
post it anonymously on you tube....

DO SOMETHING.
Can you imagine the pain and misery your brothers had to endure while small children?
Did you grow up with them? What's the situation?

Hopefully they will be old enough to be out of the house soon.
IF this jackass of an uncle gets a dog, he'll use it as a punching bag too.
Your Uncle is a p*ssy scum bag and should have been in the slammer a long time ago.
Where is the mom?

Talk to the social worker at their school. This person's job is to talk to people about situations just as these. Teachers and school officials are mandated reporters of child abuse. Also, call DCFS (1-800-4-A-child)

Call 911 when it is happening.
You do not have to identify, if you are afraid of him. Your name will NOT be given out if you don't want it known.
We do not even put your name (in the computer) if you refuse to ID.
