because each country has its own rules and laws and its own way of running things, like different types of governments. Democracy, Republic, Dictatorship and so on. Also because some countries arent open to the public (they don't want people coming in or maybe going out) in the long run there are many reasons

Sadly, it is a matter of tradition. Before cash currency took control, one's value depended upon how much land a person (or country) had. That's still true to some extent. I suggest you look closely at the Feudal System of government.

According to John Lennon's "Imagine" lyrics, we don't have to do that. But after "imagine," Lennon also adds "I wonder if you can."
See, the problem was the invention of pockets to keep stuff in. Pretty soon the pockets got full and you had to go and get a house to put all your stuff in. Everybody else was getting houses too, and you get enough houses with stuff in them, you got cities with stuff in them. And so it goes to the state level. Now, one state with a lot of wheat and dairy wants to say "this is our stuff, your stuff in on the other side of this line." A country is saying "this is all of our stuff, your crummy stuff in on the other side of this line." So the reason we have border lines is because of the invention of pockets. Glad I was able to clear that up.

Well, when a country is powerful enough to take over the world, I'm sure we wont have border problems

If countries don't need borders, maybe groups of people don't need their cultures or language to differeniate who they are, and if those are so, maybe indivduals should just have lobotomies, because no one needs to be anything or one in particular. It's just too selfish to want to be oneself. We could all live in peace as drooling idiots with no thoughts.
