What happens if you get treatened to be sued over something you wrote about a person/business on a forum that is all true information, and you have no money or anything in your name? Do they just forget about it or what? Cause i know alot of crap that happens at that place and im sure the IRS wouldnt mind a nice tip i could give them on how that business/person doesnt report things for taxes. I didn't do anything wrong except i wrote some facts that happened when i worked there, so would freedom of speech protect me? The guy is a cold hearted asshole anyways the only problem is he is my stepdads brother and now my mom is pissed at me.

Let him sue you you, if you have nothing to take then they get nothing. You should keep your threats to a minimum because everything you say will get documented and you should document everything they say to you. If sued counter sue in small claims court for attorney's fees for the limit of small claims which is usually $3000 but claim attorney fees for January 2007 and itemized a receipt then continue re-suing until harassment stops. get a restraining order or an order of protection against other party. never get into a physical altercation. If thing become agitated call the police. That documents it. Report the IRS and health code violations etc to the proper authorities.
However My experience in family matters is you really need to pick and choose you battles in life. If the man is your moms brother in law maybe you should apologize be a man and bury the hatchet

Anyone can be sued for anything but the chances of winning vary wildly. If you wrote of your verifiably true experiences you have nothing to worry about. If you made up things, made slanderous allegations you could be in trouble. Of course, this would require the other party to go to the trouble and expense of (perhaps) hiring a lawyer and filing a suit in court.
P.S. The IRS has an anonymous tip line. Call them if you have something legitimate and verifiable.

IRS has the ability to reward someone for "tips" like you talk about. My mom reported a former employer...so far nothing has happened and it's been a couple years, but at some point she could get a phone call. When she filed the report, they took her info and opened a report and I'm sure they have so much going on that they haven't even got to it yet. I think she said the reward was like 10% of what they recovered. I believe she called the office in Austin and it was confidential.

The truth will set you free. You cannot be charged of anything that is true and not written maliciously. Under the Penal Law, a person can only be charged of libel if the publication was made of false testimonies and malice.

Well you have to show up in court.

If it is true, don't worry.

If he can make it look like you know it isn't true, and you did it deliberately to harm him, then they can say you owe money for damages.
