I thought that we were only susposed to give our social security number out to employeers because that number is only for social security retirement. I tried to get new auto insurance yesterday, and they said the had to have it! What gives? I tried to look up the laws and couldn't find anything. Can someone enlighten me?

When I was almost 16, I had a girlfriend who was the same age and we were sexually active. She had a child from a previous boyfriend who was serving a prison sentence for having sex with her because he was an adult. I can do the same thing he did with no consequence whatsoever, while he sits in prison unable to take care of his child, because he was a few years older. Was justice served?

Tom promised Harry that when he retired he would sell his train set to Harry. No contacts were signed but a promise was made. Harry even built a 2000 sq. ft. room specicially for the train set. Tom sold the train set to David. Harry sued Tom for breach of contract.

My car was parked at the time when it was hit by one of the cars involved in a accident. My owned insurance covered my deductible cost, but I have to recover the car rental cost (while my car was being repaired) from the other insurance company.

It has been almost a year since the accident, and the case finally went to arbitration. Since there were no witnesses to the accident, the arbitrator ruled no fault - each insurance would cover their own cost. Because of this ruling, the insurance company of the vehicle that actually struck my car, is refusing to reimburse my car rental fees (approx. $200) because they were not "at fault".

I am looking to recover my cost through Small Claims Court.
Any advice will be deeply appreciated. Also, does anyone know if it's reasonable to claim for time loss from work - as I had to take time off to attend to the auto body shop and car rentals, etc...also, I anticipate that I will have to take time off from work for Small Claims Court.

Today my son said that the assistant principals wife made him give her his password to his myspace page cause she claimed that someone came in the office & said that my son had a hit list on his myspace page. My son is the soloist in the band & this boy that is younger than him is really upset that my son got the soloist part & not him. We believe that this boy is the one causing trouble. Can they have legally made my son give them his personal password? I have my sons password & I viewed his page daily & there is nothing threatning or obsene on it. What can I do about the school doing this ?

An example is when I was watching the Olympic ceremony few years ago U.S. team was the only country that started ranting and finger gesturing (#1) in front of the camera when all other nations were walking together side by side and waving to the fans. Isn't that the sign of arrogance and lack of respect of the Americans? Isn't that the attitude which spills to other areas why we are hated by most nations now?

I pissed of this one lady somewhere by calling here a bunch of names, and she said she expects a public apology from me or else she'll sue me for libel. Is it possible to sue a 17 year old for that? Also, the website below may help answer the question. I'm tyrone70 and the lady who I annoy is Adrenalynn. Please look and help me out. If I can avoid apologizing to her, I will.

The executor of my mother's estate (she died without a will) has comingled the estate funds with his personal accounts and not provided documentation/accounting of estate balances/payments. We have recently learned that some royalty checks have been cashed and pocketed (he says they were used to pay bills of the estate but the last bills were paid over a year and a half ago; these checks are from more recently than that). My sister and I have still not received any money from the estate, although we are sole beneficiaries on 2 accounts. We have hired an attorney but they seem to want to get it all settled and done with. We want to know what can happen to the executor for his misconduct? The attorney the executor has hired is trying to take the blame for most of it - the judge ruling on the probate has admonished them in court and threatened to remove the exeucutor but at this time that would seem pointless; she died in May of 2004? We are frustrated with the whole situation!
