That is why you have to wait until you are 18. Obviously you are not using too much forethought if you are having a baby at 16 and getting married? Are you finishing your high school? Who is supporting you? I hope it isn't the government.

few reasons.
1. Babies dont induce street fights
2. Few people die as a direct result of driving while married.
3. The government know that only retards want to get married at 16 anyway
4.marriage is slightly less harmful to the body.

You can only get married at 16 with your parent's consent, otherwise it's 18. You can have sex at 16 as that's the legal age of consent but a baby won't get you drunk or make you an alcoholic. Simple really, although at your age I couldn't understand it either. :)

Well I guess one way of looking at it is if your stupid enough to get married and have a baby at 16, then you certainly aren't responsible enough to drink until your eighteen!! Too many young girls get pregnant these days so I'm not really surprised you have to be eighteen. Besides we still have over twenty one nights too because eighteen year olds still don't know how too behave themselves and act like adults!!

When you drink and get drunk you may lose some common sense and end doing illegal things that may end up with you being prosecuted. If you are under age its difficult to give you an appropriate sentence. You will be to young to go prison and you will be too young to have your picture in the national papers.

i think getting married and being pregnant at 16 is also not legal.
A 18 yr old man/woman can control himself/herself after they become drunk.Or they can control their intake of alcohol.bcz at the age of 18,they got some matuirity.But a boy aged 16,dont have this sense.He wish to do whatever he wants.Bcz at this stage blood become very hot.May be this is the reason.

Because when your 16 you cannot understand the word risponsibility your mind still a teenager mind not adult mind, if you understand this word you can drink at age 16

The laws in the UK are just daft, well some of them, well most them really!
How can this be possible, it is completly stupid and out of date and daft.
There is a total lack of support and eductation in this country, it's as if they think that if they educate the you, they will go and do stupid stuff, when in fact it is quite the opposite!
