I have a friend who signed a rental lease agreement, but his two roommates put their names down, but never signed. All three got thrown out of the house and the rental management is now taking my friend to court for the rent and utilities, but not the other two guys. Now my friend is trying to get money from the two, but I don't know if he will be able to since they never signed the lease agreement. Please help!

Why do you think it is that crimes against women and children are underpunished? Do you think that women and children aren't as important to the justice system as men?

On average, sex criminals are sentenced to 64 months in prison (thats 5 years, 4 months). Remember, though- MANY are given less than 18 months.

Robbery crimes get, on average, 106 months. Thats 8 years, 4 months.

Burglary gets about 3 years.

There are many pedophiles and rapist/sexual assault criminals in my state (NC) who only recieve probation!!

One guy had an incestuous relationship with a near-relative and received 22 DAYS.

Why is this?? Why can't we protect those who need protection the most?

What can we do to ensure this doesnt continue?

My ex-boyfriend left when he found out I was pregnant in August of 05. He did not call or contact me in anyway. He called once after she was born in May. His name is not on the birth certficate. Im engaged to a great guy who wants to adopt my daughter. Does her biological father have any rights and if he does is it wrong for me to ask him to terminate his rights if he is not going to have anything to do with her

If I direct someone in an answer to a site that contains illegal downloads, but I clearly state to only download legal stuff from there, can I still be held liable for anything?

Thanks!

It would cut down on theft.

This is not my position. I am just curious how many people here would support this.

"For the first time, U.S. courts were granted authority to convict any foreigner who commits a war crime against an American, or any American who commits a war crime at all. At the time, nobody could have predicted that a decade later a U.S. administration, with the explicit consent of the president and the attorney general, would be accused of systematic war crimes.

But that is precisely the accusation that President George Bush and Attorney General Alberto Gonzales now face."
...

" 'The highest law enforcement officer in the country [Gonzales] is leading an effort to undercut the rule of law,' said Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., the ranking member of the Judiciary Committee, on the Senate floor last week. 'We cannot credibly ask others to meet standards we are unwilling to meet ourselves.' On Wednesday, the committee is scheduled to discuss the issue of war crimes prosecution."

free. (I said she can live there if she was on the lease and payed a tiny amount of rent a month.($100 and $25 utilities.) They got upset and moved out in the middle of the lease. Now the apartment complex has attached my wages and he is getting off scotch free.I was told that only one persons wages can be attached at a time and I am so poor right now. They want to take $300 a month from me for a year. I have social anxiety so court freaks me out. I was thinking of wirting a letter to the judge requesting that the bill be split in half because I can't afford a lawyer. Any ideas will be appreciated I am so stressed and confused right now.

the memo on the check that I write I always put what it is for (example: May child support and insurance). When I recieved my bank statement this month I noticed that my ex-wife had marked through what I had written on the memo and in place of it she wrote applied towards something else that had nothing to do with child support. Is it illegal to alter a check in that manner? what should I do?

This is a question that's been bugging me for a while. Yeah, obviously, you can expect to get fined by your friendly neighbourhood environmental local council Gestapo officers for dropping a fagend on the street but where do they draw the line. Could you expect to get done for leaving fagash too? There's no mention on any of the warning notices. Maybe if they're having a slow day raising funds and decide to change the rules. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for keeping a clean litter free enviroment but when, as is the case locally, there are hardly any bins in the vicinity and when you gotta smoke you gotta smoke.

Within New York State is it legal for me to tell my mother that I will not be accompanying her to Atlanta. I am a rising senior this year ,but if I move to Atl. I will be held back a year. I only have one year to graduate and then I leave my mother to go to college when I'm 18. Does one year really make a difference of when I'm able to leave her

Consider those activists who live for a cause and have nothing else but their life to give. They do not blow themselves up and take other lives and they face death silently for us to think.
Do you think they should be considered martyrs or you think they'll go to hell for somehow committing suicide?
There are many of them held captive all around the world. Here's a true story: http://www.payvand.com/news/06/aug/1020.html
