I took my kids roller skating Sat. night and because a kid was cuting across the floor the wrong direction, a man swerved and knocked me down and I landed on the side of my face. I had to go the ER and I don't have health insurance. I am fine, but in a lot of pain (was given painkillers and anti-inflamitory meds) and will miss work. I hate the culture of suing for everything, but I'm also worried about my hosptial bills and if I may have any long term damage I don't know about yet.

The contractor who built my home is now developing a complex , behind my home.,of 15-18 townhomes to sell. He went past the property line the city just surveyed , with a back hoe he knocked my fence down over a yr and half ago then nailed some boards across it in a different color and going the opposite way not even straight. He refuses to hear my repeated requests to fix it .There are 2-3 ft holes that drop into a 25 ft hole. I have a 6 yr old who cannot go outside due to this. The dirt slides everyday and we become closer to falling in.Then he vibrates the land and 5 other homes also with a steam roller and dump trucks --new cracks are developing all over the house. I need assistance. I don't know what legal steps to take and I was selling my home --wonder why there are no prospects. Contractor was informed of sale 1 yr ago. I need HELP I am sliding off the hill in Anchorage, Alaska.

In what field do you work? Billable or flat fee or percentage? How do you like it?

I do general business and litigation, billable hour. Enjoy it so far :-) (Just took a bar exam for a second state, though - anything is more enjoyable than studying for that....)

This is for my novel I'm currently working on a novel, and rewriting previous chapters, for the past year. I'm not a lawyer, but have done research. Let me know if I can acknowledge you, if you're an ADA or Prosecutor, for my acknowledgment page, when I hope to get it sometime next year, if not by this winter.

We have a lease purchase on a manufacturing facility in a rural area. Our lease states we shall provide our own utilities. However, we are outside the city limits and unable to get a water meter. Currently we are running off the landlord's water meter (next door) and we pay the bill. The facility has always had water supplied this way, even before us. But since our relationship with the landlord has turned sour, he keeps turning our water off. Do we have any legal standing and/or rememdy to ensure access to water? (He is upset with/apparently blackmailing us for not meeting his demand to turn over property in our possession that may be involved in his bankruptcy suit - which he testified was in our possession. Since he did so, we don't wish to turn it over without knowing we won't be held responsible for it.) It's a messy situation with an unscrupulous character. Please help - this time we have been without water for 4 days and counting!

I was extradited on the basis of the vienna convention but it had not been ratified at the time of the supposed crimes and only came into effect long after. The supreme court said it was in effect, I knew this was wrong but my lawyer said I didn´t pay him enough to get himself killed because if he put the demand it would show the courts criminal negligence.

Take that Robertson, who speaks "in the name of" some kind of what he views as God. How can he preach against democratically elected (and I mean without using the false propaganda portraying political rivals as "Nazis" and Jews as their "only" victims) heads of states such as Milosevic, may God avenge his death, who (unfortunately) wasn't a tough head of state or nationalist at all, but did (sometimes) help his people against the worst kind of terror, or Hugo Chavez, who rightly oppose today's best example of mass oppression-US imperialism & exploitation of the unfortunate? The same question applies to "Rabbi" Simcha Cook.
